Brandon Aiyuk again?

No thanks. He was awful when he played before his ACL tear.

Yeah he didn't look right early in the year before he tore up his knee. I don't know if it was a conditioning issue since he sat out most of camp but he wasn't getting open. His catch percentage, yards per catch, and success percentage were all way down. Maybe once he got into shape he would have came back to his average from the last couple years but he didn't look right in 7 games last year.

I think this year he will be limited. He may play but not be what he was.

If he can be a 1,300 yard receiver in 2026, I will take him as a 800 yard receiver in 2025. Who knows if he can ever repeat that 1,300 yard season ever again, but if he can I will take one year rehab while the Pats are rebuilding.

I'm down for it if the price is right. He's an actual X receiver which they need in a bad way.

I'm in on Aiyuk. But the way things are shaping up I think I'd rather just sign Adams and Kupp and save the draft pick. The downside is we'll need to find another receiver in the next year or 2. But I think getting 2 solid vets for Drake would allow to focus on D in the draft which we ignored last year.

Still need to find OL help too obviously.

No to aiyuk.

Why are we discounting baker and Polk so much on whom we have expended 2 draft picks . We should not take more than 1 receiver at max across FA and draft . Boutte came off well and Douglas could be more effective in slot. Just get Bourne replacement and punt on with baker and Polk. If any one of them shine , we are good. 5th receiver is a luxury that we don't use much due to 2 TE and 2 receiving backs.

Free agency go defense and Ronnie Stanley with an overpay of 10-15 million over 2-3 years over what he will get something like 3 years 75, 50 million gtd . In draft BPA for first 3 rounds.

You really can find anything on the Internet. I think you're the first to want to roll with Polk and Baker.

We need to bury Polk and Baker on the depth chart. In reality we need to bury pretty much all of our receivers on the depth chart this offseason and let them fight their way to playing time with any new additions. If Baker couldn't get on the field and Polk couldn't make a play last year I have no desire to just run that scenario back and hope for better. If they can play then they are going to have to prove it.

I am not disputing that. But if you sign say a controversial choice say aiyuk and because you paid a bomb , you need to play him but he bombs like juju and because aiyuk is there you need to release either Polk or Baker without giving them an opportunity to prove.

Last year was a cluster mess. We can't make decisions based on that. That's all I am saying . We need LT, let's get that sorted out. WR I think we should become better with better play calling and if Josh raises Douglas ceilings a bit more it's going to open up for everyone and Boutte showed tremendous progress and expect him to be better. This is not a make or break season from wr standpoint and we need to see if any 1 of baker/Polk can develop and for that they need to play . Please bring in draft and usfa and other mid tier veteran wr for camp competition and let it play out . After Higgins the only person I am comfortable in signing is Meyers.

Nope, no on Aiyuk. Loser didn't want to be here last year, now is coming off a decent injury. Nah, San Fran gets to eat that contract.

everything I read about Jiggins said he has agility issues.
I think we should trade down to about 10 take Golden trade back up take Bond.
Now we have explosive WRs.
I don’t want any party of Hollywood Brown, he looked like a Jag last year.

Oh heck no. Now you have fast receivers with no history of production. So what if they have great 40 times. Bond has never broken 700 yards is a season. Golden has never broken 1,000 yards. He had two great games in his college career and now he is explosive, awesome, and a great pick. No! Golden is the definition of inconsistency. These two guys are JAGs and you don't want Hollywood Brown? I don't want any of those three.

I don't love the idea of Aiyuk either unless SF really just wants to bail on him and take a late-rounder, but I don't know how that relationship could have soured that badly from when he was paid in August. I don't love the idea of trading draft picks either, but I think we really should consider trading one of the 3rd-round picks (or a 2nd depending on the guy) for a legitimate #1 receiver. That isn't to say we shouldn't get another one in the draft, but we need a clear-cut top dog to be able to slot some of the other guys in positions to succeed. Even during the draft process, most thought Polk's ceiling was a number 2, so maybe with some competent coaching and an alpha dog on the opposite side of the field, he can get there. Same with Demario Douglas in the slot. More will open up for him underneath with someone who can stretch the field.

All in all, I would rather spend this year building the offensive line instead of receiver if I could only choose one, but I agree with an offensive line upgrade and a real OC in place; it should bump up the current receiver group. I am all for not having progress stoppers on a young roster, but that receiver room really needs a top dog if we want to kick it into the next gear.

I wouldn’t sign Godwin beyond two years, the money wouldn’t matter much. Pay him a lot, add some injury incentives in there maybe to protect yourself but keep the years at a minimum. If he’s too injured to play it doesn’t hurt for long.

I’d sign Godwin and Darius Slayton, they need outside WR’s who can stretch the field.

Aiyuk is not that guy, he looks good in that system but by the end of last season the rookie the 49ers drafted was performing well. They know they can get similar or better production from him.

Oh heck no. You can't just have a team filled with slot receivers. You don't sign Godwin and Slayton and have Pop, Polk and Bourne. Godwin is 28. He is not signing for just two years. This is his last big paycheck and it will need to be as big as possible for him. It makes no difference what "you" would sign him for. He is not coming here for just two years. Its a minimum of 3 with an option for 4.

Godwin is a slot. Aiyuk is a X. Aiyuk is actually the perfect match for Godwin or Slayton. Aiyuk would draw attention outside opening the middle of the field. That would leave Bourne and Boutte at the Z. You have room for only 1 or two more. Polk isn't getting cut as a 2nd round pick until next year. Baker is the odd man out. Bourne could be traded if Polk or Baker show progress under Josh.

Most fans think that signing a popular name fixes our WR woes without ever paying attention to the actual position the WR plays on the field. It just does not work that way.

Speed kills, and Golden is closer to Deion Branch than a Tyquan Thornton.
Giving Maye too speedy wrs who know each other to make the transition easier will give us what the Dolphins have with Waddle and Hill.
Only Maybe can put the ball wherever he wants however he wants.

Didn’t look that way at the combine.

I’d be open to the move. Definitely not giving up anything more than a 3 with that contract.
