Why does it seem like every year for the last 3 years now there are Brandon Ayiuk trade rumors? The guy made it pretty clear he has no desire to come here and now has a big price tag and an injury and now we're going to try again? At this point I would rather trade for Higgins or Metcalf than Aiyuk.

I don't want to trade good assets for guys that have said they don't want to be here.

Both Aiyuk and Godwin have injury issues. I rather we trade back into round 2 and take Jayden Higgins.
everything I read about Jiggins said he has agility issues.
I think we should trade down to about 10 take Golden trade back up take Bond.
Now we have explosive WRs.
I don’t want any party of Hollywood Brown, he looked like a Jag last year.

Pay Godwin…
I think Godwin will be a massive bust if he signs here. He's played his whole career alongside one of the league's best outside/down the field receivers in Mike Evans which is of immense benefit to someone who runs Godwin's type of route tree and there's absolutely zero semblance of that here. He's coming off the type of leg injury that usually takes guys a year to recover from back to form, so he's likely a significantly reduced version of himself next year at least, and beyond that he'll be in his 30s. There's also a track record specifically for him of taking a year to fully recover from injury because after hurting his knee one year he averaged under 10 yards/catch the next.

Godwin being a bust if he signs here is like the most obvious thing in the world to me. I can't fathom that anyone thinks it's a good idea. Like it's literally jumping off the page what a terrible fit he is here.

These guys are closer to the end of their career. Makes more sense for them to join a contender rather than a team who is in the middle of a massive rebuild.

FIFY. We have the worst roster in the league right now. I'm optimistic with Vrabel, Gonzo and Drake that good times are in our future but we're a long way away.

I wouldn’t sign Godwin beyond two years, the money wouldn’t matter much. Pay him a lot, add some injury incentives in there maybe to protect yourself but keep the years at a minimum. If he’s too injured to play it doesn’t hurt for long.

I’d sign Godwin and Darius Slayton, they need outside WR’s who can stretch the field.

Aiyuk is not that guy, he looks good in that system but by the end of last season the rookie the 49ers drafted was performing well. They know they can get similar or better production from him.

I'm not against it, he said he didn't want to come here last year, who would want it? This year is different.

I actually see him and Higgins as the same kind of player, two real solid #2 who are going (already has in Aiyuk) to be paid like #1 and could actually perform like a #1 if everything goes right.

As the market is presenting, the Pats will have to part way with a draft pick to secure one of these 2 players and its the best that is available out there, other than the old declining folks. If they want to bring a #1 it's going to be Aiyuk or Higgins.

Then get Kupp or Diggs or whatever is left of the washed up pool and let the kids develop.

I really like the idea of of Diggs, but a report already came out saying the Pats weren’t interested my guess is Vrabel is looking for culture guys.

There’s an appropriate value where this makes sense, and it’s nowhere near the 2nd+4th that was reported last year.

Aiyuk didn't want to come to the Patriots when Jarod Mayo was head coach, the offensive coaching staff was a joke, and Drake Maye was an unproven rookie. Things are different now. He could be open to come here now that Vrabel is the HC, McDaniels is OC, and Maye looks like he has the potential be an elite QB. Whatever Aiyuk and other players thought of the Patriots last year is not necessarily what they think this year.

Besides, Aiyuk didn't want to be traded. So he might have been just trying to take the teams with the best trade offers off the board to stop the 49ers from trading him.

Coming off an ACL...Not unless he wants to redo his deal.

His deal is not that big this year. But he does have a roster bonus guarantee for 2026 or 2027 that kicks in sometime in April for I think $24 million. I don't the ACL is an issue long term, but could affect his production in 2025. Might not though.

2026 Second round pick all day... Done deal.

I think this year he will be limited. He may play but not be what he was.
