Brady vs. Ben - Legendary Rivalry Resumes

Certainly no sarcasm at all! This season's stat lines are very telling. Ben likely has 5+ productive seasons left. Tom, as great as he has been, may have hit the wall. Of course his end has been declared before and he's proven people wrong, and he may do so again. But it is possible that he goes into a sharp decline from henceforth while Ben continues to ascend to greater heights.

If it were not for the Pats I can easily see the Steelers having three more SB losses.

Just when I thought I couldn't love the Pats any more than I already do I'm given yet another reason to love them more.

Brady has come back from the supposedly dead more times than Jason Vorhees but even he can't match the number of career ending injuries Ben has returned from per game.

This is like the Michael Jordan - Chris Mullin rivalry. What a raging debate about who was better.

Ben will be HOF but I don’t see him as a lock to go on the first ballot.

Never been seriously considered for MVP. Never an all pro. 2 rings but was terrible in one of them. Pretty sure he hasn’t had more than a couple top 5 seasons as a passer. Always had a really good team around him on both sides of the ball.

It's possible that you are a knowledgable football fan. But as is true in the case for Ben over Brady, there's just not much evidence of it.

Who’s the other top 15 QB in the matchup?

Just another sad case of one fan base's "legendary rivalry" being another's barely noticeable speed bump

Yet another epic clash between these two all-time top 15 quarterbacks is just days away.

This week, Big Ben took part in what could be considered trash talk against his counterpart, when he boldly declared that he looked forward to outplaying Tom. “Man, any time you can share the field with maybe the greatest of all time you should cherish it and value it,” Roethlisberger said Wednesday. “And try to out-play him."

This quite possibly reveals what could be some underlying bad blood between the two legends, which may manifest itself in some way during, or possibly after, Sunday's highly anticipated meeting between these two AFC powerhouses.

Regarding the actual on the field matchup, it is interesting to note that Ben is statistically dominant over his rival this season, and by a healthy margin.

Ben:
4,227 yds, 28 tds, 67.0 completion %

Tom:
3,700 yds, 23 tds, 65.6 completion %

Will this lopsided comparison have any bearing on Sunday's important matchup? That remains to be seen. But this game could go a long way in ultimately determining who will go down in the NFL annals as the better quarterback. A Steelers win led by a dominant Ben performance could propel them to a late season surge leading all the way to a Super Bowl title, which would be the third for the much younger Ben - only two behind a rapidly aging Brady.

So again, the ramifications of this game could be vital in the ultimate determination of who will go down as the better QB, historically.
Is a nail the rival of a hammer?

Ben's too fat to ascend anywhere...

Impressive.
