Who in their right f*****g mind thinks Brady won’t be playing on Sunday in the AFC Championship Game?

That's nice, but it also doesn't say much. Given the quality of the backup, Brady's hand would practically have to be amputated before Brady wouldn't be playing. So hearing "Tom Brady will play Sunday" doesn't say anything about his effectiveness, only that it is expected to be more than Hoyer's.

I think the reporting on tomorrows practice will give us a better understanding of how injured his hand/finger is. I suspect its very minor.

It might be medically minor but still affect his touch on the ball. Even an imperceptible alteration to the way his hand feels throwing a ball could affect his mechanics and result in less accuracy in throws.

I bet he contused (bruised) it - no need for a MRI. No mention of a wrist injury - now that would be bad.

Issue isn’t if he’ll play, it’s whether his throws will be less accurate.

I can't imagine a defender would run into him, with him wearing the red jersey. I wonder if it was a botched handoff or something. I could see getting something jammed if someone ran/turned the wrong way and there was a collision at the handoff.

I bet if it happened in a game - he would have played on. Because it happened at practice - that is when they are careful.

Yeah -- that's my point. It's a good sign if they don't feel the need for an MRI -- means they aren't worried about soft tissue stuff. On the other hand, if it comes out overnight or tomorrow that they've decided to MRI it, that'd be worrisome.

His hand got run into. They took an X-ray for precaution. There’s no broken bones.

So his hand hurts a bit, maybe even bruised. There’s still four days till the game though. Plenty of time to rest. He’ll be fine.
