With a little too much time on my hands on a Saturday morning....
milestones likely to be reached this year

** With 19 more completions, Tom Brady will have 5000 for his career, good for 4th all time

**With 168 more attempts, he will reach 8000 5th all time

** He needs 1566 yards to reach 60,000 5th all time

** With 2927 more passing yards, he will pass Dan Marino (61,361) for 4th all time. (maybe late this year)

**With only 150 ints, he trails Favre at 337 and the Manning brothers (Eli 203 and Peyton 251)

** With last week's stellar performance Brady passed P. Manning in all time QB career passer rating
96.53 to 96.45
---------- Brady 4981/7792 ----58434 yds------428 TD-150 int
------------P. Manning 6125/9380--71940 yds -------539 TD-251 int

** Brady needs only 17,465 yards to catch Emmit Smith as career rushing leader (18,355). yeah, I think that one is out of reach.................

His ridiculous winning percentage as a starter is unspeakably awesome as well. I think it is like .760 in that ball park.

Here are some more....

- Brady has quarterbacked 48 game winning drives in his career (3rd all time), trailing only Marino (51) and Manning (56).

- Brady has 37 comeback victories (2nd all time), trailing only Manning (45).

- Brady is five wins away from becoming only the 2nd QB in NFL history to reach 200 wins (Regular & Postseason). With six wins, Brady will pass Manning as the all time winningest QB.

- Brady is 14 regular season wins away from passing Manning and Favre (186) for the most regular season wins in NFL history.

- Brady is 69 TD passes away from hitting the 500 mark for his career and 109 TD passes away surpassing Manning for the top spot.

A couple other stats:

-- Brady currently ranks tied for second in interception percentage (1.9%). Aaron Rodgers is the career leader at 1.6%.

For the sake of comparison, Peyton is 28th at 2.7%.

-- TB12 is closing in on the best overall touchdown to interception differential. Below is a list comprised of the top twenty all-time leaders in touchdown passes.

Brady TD:INT ratio 2.87
Manning TD:INT ratio 2.14

That's why he's the best. Manning may have the lead now but the records that many thought impossible to reach look very much in sight for #12.
In my opinion, the past year and one game might be the best Brady we've ever seen, and barring injury there's no real reason to think he's going to drastically regress suddenly in the coming years. I think he's got another 5 at least, and I sincerely hope they're in New England.

Brady should be a Patriot lifer

Only Brady (2.87-1) and and Manning (2.14-1) have better than 2 to 1 TD to Int ratios....
Big Ben has 1 more int and 144 less TDs. than Brady.

Edit- one be Lo beat me by a minute......

I used to rate Manning above Brady but after the 2007 season, that changed.

Manning nearly always has enjoyed more talent around him. If you had a draft of all the skill-position players on the two teams, the only Patriot that would be selected in the top 5 would be Rob Gronkowski. No matter, Brady makes things work and finds way to make everyone better. Manning needs to have elite talent around him and struggles when he is not playing in ideal conditions. Brady wins in the wind, rain and snow. If every game was played in a dome or in ideal conditions, it would be a tougher argument. Manning amazed me in his heyday with his accuracy on deep throws, but has much bigger windows and better athletes that make him look better than he is. Manning is, without a doubt, one of the all-time best.... Probably top 10. Ask yourself this: If Brady and Manning switched teams, would anyone have any doubt who would win the Super Bowl. I can't imagine Manning playing with average receivers. It has never happened. Brady is the greatest of all time.

Joe Montana essentially always had the same guys to throw too throughout his career at the 49ers because he did not have to contend with the salary cap. However, playing QB in the 80's was a lot tougher than it is now and that fact has to be acknowledged. QB's were not protected like they are now and were taking all kinds of hits and getting knocked out of games as a result. You see, the NFL was the NFL back then and not this flag football league like it is now we're real physicality is outlawed and everything is flagged (even good clean hits).

Once Brady and Belichick are done, so am I. The league is simply not fun and entertaining like it used to be were you even have awful offences just marching up and down the field because of the rules that favour them. Its unfortunate that the game is not balanced anymore but Brady and Belichick are the best to ever do it so its always great to see two masters at work.

Nope. Brady plays better in a dome, Brady plays better outdoors. The only reason Fivehead's QB rating was higher is that he played a lot more games indoors than Brady, and every QB plays better in a dome.

I like comparing game winning drives and comeback wins to losses which obviously are the times you failed to do so.

Brady: 37 comebacks, 48 gwd, 51 losses
Manning 45 comebacks, 56 gwd, 79 losses

Brady's success rate at leading his team to victory late in a game is far more impressive. He has almost as many game winning drives as losses. Simply amazing.

When all said and done i think it is likely Brees will own every major record and Brady will be #2.
Maybe, maybe not.

Brees is only two years younger than Brady. 2017 is most likely his last year with the Saints. His contract is not guaranteed beyond then and at that point his dead cap money drops dramatically.

New Orleans could be 1-5 by the end of today. When do the Saints decide it is time to rebuild rather than committing such a large portion of their cap to a quarterback, when the team can't win more than they lose?

What does Brees do at that point? He loves New Orleans. He doesn't come across as a guy who is going to squeeze every last penny out of whatever team is willing to sign him (compared to Favre and Manning).

There is also a lot more awareness about concussions and long term health. It would not surprise me at all if Brees decides to retire after the 2017 rather than chase another paycheck elsewhere. Brady on the other hand has a much better supporting cast. His team is not in cap hell nor in need of rebuilding. Even though he is older I am expecting Brady to play longer than Brees.

.
In a league with a paucity of good QBs, a team that thinks it is close might open their wallets for a one or two year rental ...He could keep his family in New Orleans and commute back to see them... If that was the difference between retiring as a the #2 all time QB in yards or staying and being #1, it might influence him to stay...

Perhaps.

The competitive fire burns hot for athletes that compete at this level.

On the other hand money is not likely going to sway somebody who already had a net worth of $130 million back in 2011, and will have received $44 million cash (pre-tax) over 2016-17 (plus about another $5 million per year in endorsements).
