it is good to see TFB call Teddy out. Ocho is a hard worker, but 1 thing I did agree w/ on Teddy is Ocho's use of Twitter. I would really like it if he made just 1 tweet a day

I think that they are both right. Teddy about Ocho's tweets and him becoming a part of the team. Brady was right about Teddy not knowing what's going on in the locker room. He is not a part of this current Patriots team. How does he know what the coaches are asking the players to do? I see both sides.

I thought it was great that Tedi said something, even though I fully support Ocho (if that makes any sense). Ocho has been working hard, and if that comment allows him to commit 1% more, than I'm all for it.

I know Brady and Bruschi are close, but I love that Brady always supports his current teammates. This was good all the way around, IMHO.

Ocho made two very nice catches, and played a part in the win yesterday.

I have stayed out of this because i thought all the attention to it by the media was crap but the truth in my opinion is that Bruschi was right, not in that Ochocinco wasn't working hard enough because he can't know that, however he was right that the Patriots don't look at their games and come out talking about "how great we are," they look at what they could have done better and how to improve from there on out, and that to me was Bruschi's real point. Ochocinco's "we're awesome, like a video game" was something a Bengal would say and not the take of someone who understands that you don't rest on last week's performance. Ochocinco needs to understand that last week means nothing going forward and when he gets that he will understand how things are done in NE.

Interesting point, Ivan, and could be a valid one except for three things:

1) Ochocinco never used the word "we" in his tweet. He was admiring others.

2) He never intimated that this was what the team would be repeating the rest of the season

I invite anyone still harping on Ocho to actually start trying to look at our offense objectively here and look at our scheme. With 2 games to look at, it is easier to understand what's going on.

In this offense, Gronk and Hernandez are proving to be undefendable to 2 pretty good defensive teams. To effectively use them, we have to go with double and triple TE sets. Well, that basically takes the 3rd receiver out of the scheme for large chunks of the game.

Ocho is (and was only ever brought in here to be) our 3rd WR. Yesterday, he clearly played better. He was targeted and made 2 great plays and receptions, including one that he was clearly interfered with. That's exactly what you want and need out of WR #3. So for the role he was playing yesterday, he had a good game. Tom knows that, the rest of the team knows that, heck, even I know that . The only people that don't seem to see it are the mediots looking to generate clicks or ratings, and a few wayward posters here that don't wanna see it.

But the question remains, why is ESPN's Employee of the Month not saying word one about Leigh Bodden (who, while less known, is a more important player to the Patriots) and his far more voluminous tweets??? - - Tweets that are a bit more questionable than Ocho's day after admiration tweet.

I think you could take his tweet a couple different ways, its hard to get true content on a one line tweet but he may have just been complimenting his team mates, no more no less. Tedy saw an opportunity to get some attention and ran with it.

This. The simplest answer is probably the correct one here, IE, what Brady said: Bruschi has no idea what hes talking about.


Ocho's tweet wasn't really any different than anything else anyone on the team said.

Aaron Hernandez said something about watching Gronk, and Gronk being much better than him. Maybe he should practice harder too? :bricks:

I think Tom's choice of strong wording is key here. The fact that he says that none of those who are critical of Chad have "any clue what they are talking about" speaks volumes here and should finally shut up Chad's critics who (embarrassingly) made this situtation into much more than it should have been.

But, as fans, let's rejoice that, a harmless tweet, by a new player, who offers his admiration to a GOAT teammate, is all fans and mediots alike have to complain about. It could be much worse.

I've heard more than one current Patriot claim as recently as last night that nothing they do comes as a surprise because it's what they are working on in practice all week and when they do it they have simply met their expectations. They have also echoed the fact that however awesome it appeares to outsiders it's still not as good as they know they can be and they intend to be. Which is why they seldom toot their own or teamates horns without the caveat that they still have work to do.

Chad is not only behind the 8 ball out of the gate, the train is gaining speed and it gets tougher to hop onboard the further and faster it goes. He's not going to have until the bye week to catch up now with Hernandez likely out for a couple of weeks. That's the guy he replaces...

All of that was what Tedy was aluding to... And you don't have to be inside the locker room to realize that... Especially not if you were for many years... Every team is different, but the system and the demands and the Patriot Way don't change. Just ask any of the long list of guys who didn't make it or last long here...

If Bruschi didn't spend his whole career playing for us with a lot of success, both on a personal and team level, I'd have a hard time not considering him the biggest d bag on TV (wait, Merrill Hoge is still on ESPN, right? Ok, fine, even if Bruschi called BB Rex Ryan's personal f*ck b*tch he still wouldn't be as lame as Hoge). Harrison pissed me off last year with his holier than thou attitude about headshots/defenseless receivers/etc, but he's much more cut out for TV than Tedy and comes across as being much less of a meatstick.

I said last week when he made the comments how bad they made Bruschi look and I'm really glad Brady stood up for Chad and the rest of his team.

I loved Bruschi on the field, but seeing him on TV now makes me understand why we always heard the criticisms of brash/arrogant/annoying about Tedy from opponents and their fan bases while we (permissibly) looked the other way.

I could kind of tell from his expression last week while saying he had no problems with Chad that he was annoyed by Bru. Did anybody related to the Patriots actually back Tedy here? The only one I know of that kinda did was Rodney and Rodney's the same one that backed Ray Lewis and T-sizzle when they whined about the Brady rules after we beat them in '09. How is he behind the 8-ball?

He was brought in to be the #3 or #4WR and that is where he is after the first two games.

He caught both balls that were thrown his way yesterday (one of which with a defensive pass interference).

He's on a team that has run the no-huddle offense with 2 TE set for more than half it's plays in the first two games. He's the next WR off the bench after Branch and Welker. If anything, Taylor Price being in the medical tent is the big disappointment.

Seems to me that, if Johnson can just have a decent game against the Bills, we may finally be past the faux crisis that was the "Ocho's not ready!" storyline.
