He had an ankle surgery, then a set back and another surgery after the 2021 season. Then he butted heads with a new coaching staff leading up to and including the 2022 season while claiming that his ankle was not yet feeling ok. A year ago he ran slow at the combine, but he said he had not been training because he was letting his ankle rest.

There’s no doubt he has maturity issues, but I’m still hoping that there is untapped talent and potential there. He’s still young and stupid, but if he could just develop into a solid #2 receiver that would be a big win for our team.

If the accusation is true and he had hundreds of thousands of dollars of action in games in which he played, it is not much about nothing. It is a legit big deal.

While I agree we need to wait and see Boutte's side of the story, we are just a wee bit past the point of this being something "some local beat reporter gets wind of and puts on paper to make a name for himself." The arrest warrant specifically mentions their investigation methods and that he was betting on LSU games in which he participated.
