Charges dropped. Boutte was looking pretty decent during camp. May surprise us and take a roster spot over someone like Juju/Thornton.
very interestingAt best he’s WR 6, most likely a camp cut/practice squad player. There’s always a chance he has a great camp/preseason and beats out Thornton and JJSS though. Rooting for him to have a great camp/preseason.

The article is definitely a bit wonky. It flat-out says he did it in one spot, but then later says "allegedly." I think it's just poor writing. The article (freakin' ESPN) says that the investigators found that he did it. Why have charges been dropped then? Feels like half the report was missing. Typical ESPN chit I guess.

Oh there’s no doubt I would rather have Booty than either of Sucks-Sucks or BoneyT; the question for me is: would I rather have him than Reagor? (And this is ass-uming that Bourne starts the season on PUP like he should.)
To be fair the charges were for actions he allegedly had taken while in college, not as a pro. So it's not like he's suddenly done something wrong recently, we're still talking about stuff that would have been in his past. As far as I'm aware he has not done anything wrong as a pro. It's only been a year and some change, but still - trying to give him some level of benefit of the doubt as a Patriot. He's still a head case... maybe he will grow up and mature.
This kid is living off of one great freshman season 5 years ago now.
Yeah, they'd need to carry 6. However, I feel pretty strongly that they will. You can tell, based on their drafting and sniffing around in free agency, that they know WR needs some work - so it makes sense to go a little heavier at that position, especially if it's for young guys on rookie deals that need development. He may beat out JuJu and Thornton... but that still doesn't guarantee him a roster spot if Bourne is healthy and they don't carry 6 WRs:
Locks (assuming health):
Polk
Baker
Bourne
Douglas
Five guys fighting for 1, MAYBE 2 spots:
Osborn
JuJu
Thornton
Reagor
Boutte
He needs to bring something the others don't, or do it at a level in camp that you can't move on from him. But I'm skeptical. There's only so many years you can sell me on "But he had a great freshman year at LSU!" before I ask what he's done since.

Polk, Baker and Douglas are the true locks. Bourne is a "lock" but could possibly start on PUP, which frees up a slot for at least 6 weeks. So Osborn/Juju/Thornton/Boutte/Reagor are fighting for (IMO) 2 spots, but it could be 3 spots, if Bourne starts on PUP.
I also think that guys like Thornton and Boutte have a slight edge because they're young and have room to develop. Maybe even Reagor, a little bit - he's only 25. Wolf will want to use the year to develop some of these guys, get them snaps, and see what he has.
Boutte looks like he could be a possession guy he's not a one trick pony. I see a very competitive WR room. All fair points. Bourne is the big x-factor, as him going on PUP would not only open a roster spot, but his skillset has some crossover with Boutte's as well. So it would remove one more obstacle to Kayshon's path to the roster. Still a longshot, IMO.
