All I can think of is 2015-16 where we lost 3 or 4 pro bowlers. Mayo, Vollmer, and two others I can’t remember. Still barely lost to Denver on the road in the AFCCG.

Vollmer never made the Pro Bowl, but was by far the best RT during the Pats Dynasty. Mayo was the only Pro Bowl player they lost, but he was already on a massive decline. The biggest losses were Dion Lewis and LaGarrette Blount.

They would've blown Denver out at home if Bill put more emphasis on taking care of business in week 16 or 17 of the regular season.

That tackle looked to be in the same neighborhood of the hip-drop tackle, which is in discussion to be made illegal. Also shares aspects of a horsecollar tackle, which is already illegal.

The pats win total is 5.5. They should do everything they can at this point (trading assets, playing young players) to ensure a top 3 pick. They are probably going 5-12 regardless.

Picking a blue chip T might be the smartest and, maybe more importantly for us at this time, the safest choice

I wish Bourne a full and speedy recovery. Losing him for the rest of the year is frankly not that big a deal, though. This season, except as a time to vet what we have and plan for building something better, is over. It's been over for two or three weeks.

I suspect this player might have a role here going forward, and he's obviously not ideal at this point, injured as he is, as trade bait. Let's just wish him well and turn to more important matters, foremost getting in place the leadership needed to rebuild the team.
