Patriots Injury News Bourne tears ACL

Just keeps getting worse.
This poor guy has had a really rough few years here. He had some great moments in '21 but not as much as he should have. Then the fiasco of last year, not only wasting a year of Patriot football, but his career. Now, finally emerged as "the guy", and seemed to really be a leader for the offense (despite the money and attempts to push Parker or JSS into that role). Now he's out. This offense just got even worse.
I just hope BB does whats best for the football team and signs Bourne, and cuts Parker and JSS.

ACL tear means season over?

This is bad news and couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Kendrick Bourne was enjoying a renaissance year. Finally freed from the shackles of clueless Patricia.

Not sure who can step up to fill his shoes here.

Our WR group went from poor to completely unproven just like that.

So our depth chart is now Pop Douglas, Jalen Raegor, Devante Parker, and Kayshon Boutte if he finally gets out of BB's doghouse?! OOF.

I hope BB does what's best for the team and steps down from the GM position.

That odd year injury luck is hitting different this year...

The pats win total is 5.5. They should do everything they can at this point (trading assets, playing young players) to ensure a top 3 pick. They are probably going 5-12 regardless.
hey that's not so bad!! that means the rest of the games we have to watch will be better winning % than what we had to endure so far!

when is the last time a team tanked for a player won a SB with that player? and what team and what player was it? legitimate question

Talent issues aside for this team (which are not nothing), this is one of the worst injury luck seasons I can remember. They didn't have a lot of buffer in that regard, and they've blown past it. Sucks for Bourne. Really liked how he looked this year.
Agree but wouldn't have mattered. Bill built a bad team w/ little elite talent that constantly make mistakes, commit penalties and can't get **** done. This will just provide cover for Bill when he goes smooth talk Kraft into another extension: "but if not for the injuries."

Feel awful for the guy. He balled put pretty hard here.

I don't think it's happened. The concept is an opiate, the pinnacle of copium for hard times.

What an absolute train wreck of a season.

Hope he heals up ok and is back on the 2024 team.
You think this one is worse than last season? Probably, though watching Fat Matt and Judge leading the O was hilarious.

Sucks for him. But sums up our season in a nutshell.

I don't think it's happened, or at least not any time recently that i can remember. I don't think they tanked, but the Bengals getting Burrows seems to be the most recent team to get to the Super Bowl with a QB picked #1. Goff on the Rams before that. There's Stafford, but he left the team that drafted him.

Personally, I don't think it matters if you tank or not, the evidence shows that #1 picked QBs often aren't good enough to get you to the Super Bowl without a really good team/coach around them.

Now we have solidified at Top 5 pick without intentionally tanking. Even our best effort here on out won't amount to Jack Squat.

Picking a blue chip T might be the smartest and, maybe more importantly for us at this time, the safest choice
You really think they can't restock the line with lower round picks? If the Pats get the number 1 pick, you really want them to use it on a Tackle? I would think QB would be our highest priority, Oline next, then WR.

Feel bad for Mac too.

If Bourne stayed healthy, and if only Jakoby Meyers was kept, and if only Hopkins was offered 14mil rather than the 13mil he got, maybe we wouldn't be talking about Mac not being the future but rather about signing him to an extension.

Yes. It is worse.

FWIW they both sucked but at least last year they had a chance to make the playoffs after Thanksgiving.
