Cool sounds good. Then lets get a Pass Rusher, CB & wassup with Eman Sanders was he given an offer yet for Steelers to make a move?

sanders has his own thread..look there..no offer yet

Sheesh you guys, i just assumed jake long set the market....
Set the market for all pro LTs, not for RTs who have been injured and not played real well for 2 years

I like this news. Seabass is a top 5 RT in the league when healthy with his combination of size, length and nimbleness. Hopefully the Pats put in some built-in injury protection into this contract like they did with Amendola.

15 million in cap space is not good....9 million for vollmer, 5 million for rookies, and 1 million leftover to sign a pass rusher. You can kiss dumerville good bye.

SeaBass might be getting $9 million TOTAL, but, not in one year!

When was the last time $15 mill in cap space was a bad thing?

Vollmer won't get 9M/Year and even if he did they would never structure it so the first year cap hit was even close to that.

Beaty got 5/38.5
Loadholt got 4/25
Bushrod got 6/36

I think Vollmer will get something like Loadholt or Bushrod in the 6M/season range with 1/3rd up front.

Agree that Loadhold sets the market for Vollmer. Both are RTs, both have injury issues, both 2nd round picks (not that that matters), both are comparable in ability.

I dont thin vollmer has been thaaat bad

Yah! Sehr gut! Das ist fantastisch!

"Yah"???? where are we, upper Minnesota?

Ja! Sehr gut! .. Das ist fantastisch.....this ridiculously anal post brought to you by Josef Kerrbels...Minister Of Disinformation And Chaos

by the way, if that thing in her right hand is a bildo, I'm moving to a different planet...jeezus

Oh i hope. First they get rid of Cant believe its not butter resign Talib and Seabass. We got Armstead Danny Boi Ballard Wilson. This offseason is giving me a raging clue. Armstead so underated on this board. He was top 15 pick before his heart attack. With Ballard, Ahern Gonna be that big WR we been dreaming im calling it. Sad to see Woody go.

Jake Long: Was last All Pro in 2010
Sebastian Vollmer: Was last All Pro in 2010

Jake Long: Injured the last two years
Sebastian Vollmer: Injured the last two years

Jake Long: Has not played well in two years
Sebastian Vollmer: Has not played to his 2010 standards the last two years, but his 2012 season is still better than either of Long's last two.

The key differences:
Sebastian Vollmer: Most playing time at RT
Jake Long: All playing time at LT

Sebastian Vollmer: Vast majority of injuries issues due to back that's been a issue since college
Jake Long: Not nearly the same type of chronic injuries

You're a dirty old man. It is just her favorite dog and her award winning veggie from the garden.

she looks familiar....did she play a part in Men In Black III?

I have a back injury. I do not know if Vollmer's injury is the same as mine however I am almost certain that his power numbers in the weight room must be down.

I am sure that they will be on top of this issue in regards to the injury concens. I agree with you that he's a top 5 RT in this league when healthy.

I still feel that the title of the thread is somewhat misleading, but I'd be very happy to hear the good news tomorrow. I just am unsure on what they are going on the fuel this report? I hope it's not the fact that Belichick and Vollmer were scheduled to meet together. That doesn't say too much in my opinion.

I think a 4/24 deal is very fair, and actually may be overpaying.

I'd like to see something like 4/20 with maybe playing time incentives capable of bumping it to 4/24.

Re: Re: Boston Herald: Pats close to re-signing Vollmer

It is when 12 million is going to be allocated to 5 draft picks and emergency money!

The cap hit for the 5 picks is so far away from that it's not funny.
