Sure if everyone sucks then we are screwed.

Fact is when Josh was OC the O averaged 27ppg and Mac was a slightly above average QB. When he left and Fat Matt took over and changed the offense he sucked. What changed? It wasn't the QB.

Agree they need a WR1. Meyers, Bourne, Parker and Thornton doesn't scare anyone.

HH is a slightly above-average TE. Hes really an H back now.

I have no idea what purpose Smith has anymore. Maybe BOB can make some use out of him.
Get that kid at @14 Terry Glenn pt. 2 he'll immediately be our #1 WR he's already Elite.

Again this stats means nothing if you don’t had context.

They average 27ppg because of the 3 blow out.

In the 3 blow out they averaged 49.6 ppg. The rest of the season (14 games, 83% of the season), they averaged 22.35 ppg.

There is a difference, at least in my mind, between a team that score 27 points consistently and a team that have 3 outlier games that bump a lot their average points scored.

I want to make this distinction CLEAR. Everyone seems to be hung up on the term Erhardt-Perkins. The thing that needs to be kept from Erhardt-Perkins has NOTHING to do with the playbook, but everything to do with the LANGUAGE/semantics.

THAT is what Bill demands his OC's continue to use. And just like every language, if you haven't spoken it before, it takes time to learn. But it is the SEMANTICS that is Erhardt-Perkins greatest gift to the current Pats offense
I agree...it's terminology.

We can do better than that at #14, such as Jaxon Smith-Njigba at WR, or one of the top CBs, or one of the top LTs.

I've been wondering if Patricia's grasp of EP was part of what limited his playsheet. Maybe he was Ocho Patricia?

EDIT: In light of the Callahan Herald article re coaching dysfunction I'm giving more weight (swidt) to the Ocho Patricia angle. As a DC he didn't need to know the ins and outs of the EP dictionary. I think he found it too hard to become fluent in it in the time available and this limited his play calling pallete.

Yeah the funny thing is that before joining Pats both Henry and Smith were quite productive on their teams (not Gronk-like but for sure better than what we have seen so far from them here) and that was why they were broth in, perhaps it depends whether someone can utilize them in the right way that matches their strengths unlike what the Pats did in the last couple of years, the same is valid for WRs as well

hope this changes with BoB
Henry has produced almost identical average #s in his 2 years here as he produced w/ Chargers.

Smith's #s are slightly below avg from his TEN #s w/ exception of TDs which are way down (even w/ McD).

At some point we may need to accept that these guys are who they are.

I hope BOB gets' one of these Three TE's Michael Mayer - Dalton Kincaid or Darnell Washington.

The should get back to scoring 25ppg or more.

Still not enough to compete punch for punch with the Bills, Bengals and Queefs but respectable nonetheless.
BTW- if we had averaged 25 pts this year we would have been in the top 5 in the league in scoring. Just sayin'

Coach cap: the way I feel about he Jalin Hyatt is the way I felt about A.J. Brown and George Pickens nuff said!

The next domino could be falling very soon.

That's my thought too I would do the the same with either Jefferson or McCardell as under studies.

I don't like his medicals for the Patriots but I wouldn't be opposed in the Second no way in the First!

It would be interesting to see an analysis of past offenses tossing out say the top-3 and bottom-3 games in terms of ppg and seeing if that told us anything.

Henry produce literally the same thing for us as he was on the chargers and jonnu smith is just not that good and the Patriots signed him for the potential that never materialized
they are for sure not the top end TE you would like to see, especially with the contracts handed to them, but I am pretty sure that you can utilize them more and get more out of them and that is actually on the coaches, we've seen obviously better players like for instance Meyers who was riding the bench for someone like Harry for 2 years until they made the switch to who should be the starter and who benched

there is something on the offensive side of the ball where I think the Pats have things to address and with real OC being named it started but if you ask me OL, TE and WR coach have to be the next, the ones we have, haven't shown to develop anyone or bringing anything of value to the team or player development it actually seems to have been getting worse over time

Well, we don't know about Judge. No new QB coach as been announced.
Give Bill O'Brien a chance to get off the plane. I'd love to see O'Brien and Belichick bring in Frank Reich as QB coach and find a way to hire Stacy Searles as OL coach from Georgia who did a great job at North Carolina from 2019 to 2022.

Would have preferred some new blood with modern offensive ideas but BoB is better than Fat Matt.

wow, henry is really right on past production. Smith was trending up, and then kaboom ... back down he went.

Here' what I think about this kid just based on what you offered. He is a bit undersized (especially the weight). Kind of reminds me a bit of Devonte Smith in size. BTW- Smith has a bad rookie year, though he's picked things up this year.

Bottom line - IMHO it would be CRAZY to pick a kid at 14 who has only ONE year of serious production and isn't 6'4 220.

No doubt he COULD end up being the next Terry Glenn, but at #14? MUCH too big of a risk, buddy
