Hopefully we got him to sign a 3 year deal at least. We need continuity for Mac !
A multi-year deal will not preclude him from leaving early for a HC position.

I didn't know all of this. Interesting. Has he won in any other college he coached at?

He was 15-9 as HC for two seasons at Penn State.

Patricia cant DC either?

Whats going to happen when yall revolt against BOB? He got himself fired at Houston with Watson at QB and Alabama fans are way happier than you folks are today.

Why do people ignore that Brady made BOB, Mickey D and so many other people who cashed in?
I think we fundamentally perceive reality differently. But I do appreciate a good sh*tposter.

Neither player are on the same level as those two and can’t do the same thing. The two TE sets worked because of Gronk and Hernandez not because of the scheme.
Yeah the funny thing is that before joining Pats both Henry and Smith were quite productive on their teams (not Gronk-like but for sure better than what we have seen so far from them here) and that was why they were broth in, perhaps it depends whether someone can utilize them in the right way that matches their strengths unlike what the Pats did in the last couple of years, the same is valid for WRs as well

hope this changes with BoB

The good news we all expected but feared would not occur.

Step 1 of fixing the offense is done.
Step 2 hire ol coach
Step 3 get a qb coach
Step 4 draft a left tackle at 14
One down 3 to go.....we can hope

The should get back to scoring 25ppg or more.

Still not enough to compete punch for punch with the Bills, Bengals and Queefs but respectable nonetheless.
Not if we have sloid QB play and some real WR's. Thornton needs to work his @ss off he needs be ready in year 2 I am also pretty sure Bob is getting a TE who is a factor in the passing game. This a good year to get a TE in the Draft and they are also a few quality guys in FA ie... Gesicki or Hooper. I don't think BoB is going experiment with Junno Smith.

This makes a Brady return to New England slightly more possible.

I hate the thought . . . But winning it all with Brady again would be damn fun.

Henry produce literally the same thing for us as he was on the chargers and jonnu smith is just not that good and the Patriots signed him for the potential that never materialized

How is the offense fixed? The team is miles behind Cincy, KC, Buffalo, SF, and Philly in terms of talent. And I assume BOB is going to be the QB coach as well.

He didn’t really produced really well under Josh. He was below average for the majority of the season. The 3 blow out against the Jets, the Browns without an offense and the Jags with half their team on the Covid list really masks what he really did his first year which is not much.

the 3 blow out
3G 8 TD 0 INT 127.1 RTG

Rest of the season
14G 14 TD 13 INT 87.1 RTG

this year
14G 14 TD 11 INT 84.8 RTG
Exactly. He had a couple good games but really struggled down the stretch. Playoffs were a disaster as well.

So, the hope should be that we get MORE out of Mac Jones. Not revert to some past version that was really good. He made the pro bowl but was like the 10th alternate lol.

Sure if everyone sucks then we are screwed.

Fact is when Josh was OC the O averaged 27ppg and Mac was a slightly above average QB. When he left and Fat Matt took over and changed the offense he sucked. What changed? It wasn't the QB.

Agree they need a WR1. Meyers, Bourne, Parker and Thornton doesn't scare anyone.

HH is a slightly above-average TE. Hes really an H back now.

I have no idea what purpose Smith has anymore. Maybe BOB can make some use out of him.

I can play that game too. Take out his 3 best games under Fat Matt and then do a comparison.

That's why it's important to keep Caley on the staff...

IMO I don't think he would take the job unless he had full authority to make all the changes he wants on offense while playing within the Erhardt-Perkins system...and I think that goes for Mayo on defense. I think things are different.
I want to make this distinction CLEAR. Everyone seems to be hung up on the term Erhardt-Perkins. The thing that needs to be kept from Erhardt-Perkins has NOTHING to do with the playbook, but everything to do with the LANGUAGE/semantics.

THAT is what Bill demands his OC's continue to use. And just like every language, if you haven't spoken it before, it takes time to learn. But it is the SEMANTICS that is Erhardt-Perkins greatest gift to the current Pats offense

BOB took over as HC at Penn State immediately after the Jerry Sandusky scandal, replacing Joe Paterno himself. Most folks thought that was going to be a train wreck but he turned them around in the very first year and had them competing with the big dogs despite most of his good players ditching to go to other schools due to the scandal. They finished 8-4 in his first year and he was named Big Ten Coach of the Year. They went 7-5 his second year, and then he went to the Texans the year after that.
Do you remember who the QB was?

It at least gives you some level of competency at the OC role, unlike what we had this year. Work on the personnel and right the ship. At the very least, it's progress and the needle pointing up.

Where's Ari Gold to pop in on a Patricia meeting?
