Pats lost to Brock Osweiller and Jake Plummer.
Stidham playing doesn't change the D, STs or Donks running game.
Gotta beat the 85 Bears tomorrow first.

Stidham has played for 7 seasons in the league, he has started 4 games, lost 3 of them and has 8 TD's/8 INT's. That's his entire contribution in 7 years.

This is crazyyyyyyyyy. Tomorrow's game is basically for the AFC title. The Pats are NOT losing to this Broncos team with Jared Stidham.
They weren't losing to Nix.
Dude Sux.

Didn’t they get a roughing the passer penalty on that play ? And didn’t he run the ball to center it for the game winning FG ? He’s a tough QB. Feel bad for him. Stidham is ok in a pinch, but for an AFCCG ? It would be a legendary achievement if he won that game, kinda like Jeff Hostetler who took over for Simms in 1991 I believe.
Different play. The RTP was a little earlier when there was another PI penalty.

Edit: Payton said it was the play before the one I brought up, which would have been a run to the left by Nix.

He hasn't started a game since Cam Newton got Covid.

If you watched him in preseason at all, you'd know why I'm actually not loving this.
Come on, man, this is a really bad take. Are you really going to base your argument on how anyone played in a pre-season game? Stidham has never been even close to being a starter in this league, he hasn't started in the league for 3 years, and Nix, with all his faults, took the Broncos to 15-3, and the AFC championship game. Stidham isn't suddenly, with zero rep, turn into a starting caliber player, let alone a Super Bowl bound one.

If you think Stidham, a guy that has never been good enough to be the 32th best QB in the league is bad news, over the guy who led his team to the AFC championship game, yeah, that's nonsense, sorry if that's offensive, but that's the truth.

If you're superstitions, that's ok, be my guest, but getting Jared freakin Stidham for a spot in the Super Bowl? Are you kidding me? This is surreal.

Nick Foles was an excellent backup with limited starting experience, thanks to teams bringing in high-priced FAs and first round picks over him.

He did ok.

Nathan Peterman looked great in preseason and we saw what happened when the realgames started...

Nick Foles was a pro bowler in his second season where he threw for 27 TD/2 INT and had a passer rating of 120.

He didn't come from nowhere. Injuries did him in, which is why his playoff run in 2018 wasn't suprising.

Stidham isn't even a JAG. He has never even been given a chance to start, let alone prove he's a starter caliber, let alone #2 be a galaxy away from being a pro bowl level. He's nothing like Foles.

I definitely don’t think Stidham is better than Nix but I don’t think he’s substantially worse either. I think he has more arm talent, might even read the field better, but isn’t built for prime time.

Don’t be surprised if he does a little damage early, but after some adjustments turns back into a potato.

Pats may get to face LAC without any no tackles, Houston with no Collins, Denver with no Nix.

Even if they make the super bowl the narrative that they didn't play anyone this year and don't really deserve it will persist unless they win it all vs a healthy Seahawks team. Even making it will be considered not much of an accomplishment.

Edit: Not my opinion btw... speaking of the narrative others will build. Though the path is relatively easy as superbowl paths go, even a strong Pats support must admit as much.
