Agree or disagree? The Maye bar is ankle high.

Mahomes deserves his own tier 1. No one in the league is close.
Mahomes is an interesting one. Yes- he's won 3 of 5 SBs and is in the top 10 GOAT discussion but you can't say his work these past two years has been on the same level as 2018-2022. Could be quality of the line, pass catchers leaving/getting older, crappy running game,. cap space, etc.....or his style of play/dad bod is catching up to him as he approaches the middle of his career.

I don't disagree but he's still on his own tier until he doesn't reach a SB despite it.

Wasn't Sims a career back up himself? Couldn't make it in Tampa Bay because he couldn't learn grudens offense and command the huddle??

I ask.. because I noticed alot of ex NFL players especially back up QBs when they get media jobs they seem to diminish the value of Superbowl winning QBs.. I love Jackson, Burrow and Allen however they have 0 rings compared to the 5 Mahomes and hurts have collectively.

Brady faced this for years... Manning was always somehow considered ahead of him but TB12 had the rings to back it up. He looses me even mentioning Stidham...

The season can't start fast enough.. these guys are bored..
@jmt57

When does the training camp thread start? The week of or a few days heading into it?

Sure great QB's should be able to get a 1st down but young ones run the plays that get sent in. Bosa's unsportsmanlike gifting Jax the ball at the 1, a blown block sack on 1st down didn't exactly put the kid in a position to succeed I still vividly recall cussing Staley out watching him coach not to lose that entire 4th quarter, perhaps we did watch different games, although I may also have had more money on the Chargers than you which may have influenced the cussing a touch

Staley is one of the very worst non-Patriots HCs I've ever seen.

I think you nailed it... at this point, if you proposed that same trade but with Lawrence, I'd say no.

Oh yeah there's no ****ing way I'm trading Maye for Lawrence. I don't know what's happening to the former Football Jesus, but the dude's just a plain ****ing idiot now.

If the Pats have a good running game, then I don’t expect Maye to have a huge year. And that’s what they should shoot for, a good running game that sets up the pass.

With Campbell, Strange, Bradbury, Moses, Sow, the line will improve in run blocking, but the pass blocking might not be the best. All of those guys have high RAS scores and are athletic, but a bit light in the pants. We will see.

Onemenu at RG...?

No he doesn't.

**** Patty Mahomes.
Unfortunately my guy Cap.. until those other guys get some Lombardis they won't be at his level right now. Remember our very own goat faced the exact same thing... Brady can't throw deep, Brady can't do this, Brady this, Brady that... ****ing guy had 3 rings before the age of 30!!!!!!

Manning was always somehow pegged above goat..

No they don't; but this HC was asking his QB to convert 4th downs inside HIS OWN 20-Yard Line...
4th down is pretty much a staple in offenses these days... rams, eagles, lions, all pretty good dam offenses...

But this guy was taking WAY too many unnecessary chances with his offense because even though he was a defensive coach he still worshipped at the alter of the Nerds whose sacred numbers never take circumstances & game situations into account.

Yes u could be right there.. but that was when the analytics started to become a thing in the NFL.. should he have puntes more? Sure probably so.

Onemenu at RG...?
1 out of 5. All generalizations are invalid, including this one.

If we pick lint out of every posters bellybutton, we can never have a meaningful discussion.

Not picking lint really; just thinking that Onemenu's got the RG job fairly sewn-up, unless he arrives at TC in the Worst shape of his career... which would be saying something.

At what point does the QB take any blame. Coaches don't ask QBs to throw picks...

Staley wasn't coaching the chargers last year btw. The Captain knows what he is saying. Do you?

WTH are you even talking about when it comes to Herbert and int's? Herbert threw 3 int's all of last season. He had an int % of .6 for 2025, he went over 350 passes without an int at one point last season. I can't fathom why you go to one aberrant game as though it defines his career. Should Brady be judged by his last game here? Did you even watch that Chargers playoff game??? The center of that o-line put on a master class of what not to do, matadors waving red capes would have been more effective. Harbaugh afterwards felt compelled to say they had to roll Herbert out just so he could complete his throwing motion.

If a QB is responsible for how bad his line failed him then how much blame do you attribute to Maye for the Pats o-line failures last year? The reason Herbert isn't taking much heat for those int's in that one game is because the people that usually lead the charge applying said heat generally speaking know at least a little about the game.
