If all this turns out to be is feeling Gilmore is a better corner and giving him the contract butler would have demanded you get the bonus of either both for the year with butler costing less than 4 mill or an extra first round pick which would replace the stolen one.Gilmore makes a lot of sense, we needed the size. But im not sure im a fan if Butler is gone. Well if we can get a 1st to replace him i guess we will be fine but still..i like a butler.
Maybe it's simply that they know HT is gone and they have money to spend.
Wonder if Butler could be a part of a Cooks deal
Ryan Hannable had an interesting suspicion -- Butler and NE #1 (#32 overall) for Cooks and NO #2 (#42 overall).

Butler deserves to be paid for the contributions he's made to two superbowl championship teams. I want him here for the rest of his career or at the very least his prime.
This is an awful signing to you right and you're going to criticize it?
I would pass on that.
People are acting like Cooks is prime Randy Moss. We should let Ryan go and keep Butler/Gilmore as the best duo in the league.
Why not though? You don't keep two 14m CBs on your roster.
