Best I’ve felt after a Patriots loss… EVER…

Teams can sell out and buy a Championship In Todays game Ivan. Yeah it's short term and cap hell in the end but the Rams did it. Also Miami tried but injuries and series of unfortunate events did them in. That said I hope they Trade for a Starting Tackle on a Underachieving Team: a player that would just step right in.
People always use the Rams, but the Rams put themselves in a situation where they were able to buy like a 4 year window before paying the piper and they got two shots at the Super Bowl. You can do that, but you also need a solid base as well. The Rams had guys like Donald and Kupp who were cornerstone pieces that were homegrown.

The Patriots do not have anybody on the roster close to those level guys to be the anchor for all the add ons.

Also, let's be real, most teams that win a Super Bowl, were developed very well draft wise and internally before they started splurging. Patriots, Eagles, Patriots, Chiefs, Bucaneers, Rams, Chiefs, Chiefs. Those are the last 8 Super Bowl winners in order. The Patriots, Chiefs, and Eagles all were mostly driven by drafted guys. The Bucs added Brady/Gronk/AB, but they had a stacked roster already. They did go all in that one year with people they acquired, but what drew Brady there (and in turn everyone else) was what they built already. Then I already explained the Rams.

The best way to win a Super Bowl is to be excellent at developing a team from the draft on out. If I go backwards, you have the Broncos, Seahawks and Ravens in there as well.

My expectations were very low for this season. I’m very happy with Maye’s progress in just 2 games. That’s all I really cared about for 2024. So I’m good.

There wasn't much progress. A couple of TD passes. A couple of INT's that were caught last week weren't this week. So, it's about the same as last week.

Agreed. Maye is the only and most important thing that matters this season and beyond..

I like this take. I feel the same. He’s come in and made some plays. Seems decisive, can elude enough to stay out of ‘long situations’. Throws are remarkable & the game doesn’t seem to big/fast for him.

Let’s keep him alive and build around Maye.

As fans our emotions can get the best of us.. because we've been spoiled with football excellence for so long. I'm so happy we selected Drake. And truthfully I'm embracing everything that's happening with the team.. because this is only going to make mayo a much better coach, we are going to see who are the guys who want to be here and who doesn't .. players and coaches.. Drake is the only thing we as fans should care about. The organization knows this.. so embrace it all.. we will be a much different team come September 2025. Than we are now.

Kid had no TOs that's showing growth.. everything around him is the problem. However I'm embracing the suck.

Why?

Seriously. You don't approach this year like a contender ridding yourself of flexible assets at higher cost. You hoard/collect them and then act in the offseason when the returns can be under your control for far longer and other teams are in the same/similar bargaining position.

The only options you explore are what they're doing - waiver wire tweaks around the edges that don't cost you anything. They're not winning more than five games most likely regardless.
If you target an LT like walker little or Cam Robinson, both are going to be FAs next year. So if you trade for someone like that then you don't have to be involved in bidding wars during FA. I don't think its a bad idea as long as you are not giving away significant draft picks.

I disagree because his completion percentage was higher this week and he showed that he can run some hurry up. I thought there was growth over last week from Maye but sadly noone else.

That's the whole point - it will require such compensation.
Given the cash and salary cap room they have, if they decide that a LT that they can trade for would be a better option than a rookie then pursue the trade regardless of the cost. I wouldn't do it but I understand it. Ronnie Stanley or Kevin Banks?

My main concern for this season is Drake's development as well but I will admit what I have seen from the coaching staff is making me very nervous that Maye ends up with a Justin Herbert like career trajectory. Have a ton of talent but take a beating and lose a lot of games due to poorly constructed teams and bad coaching.

A little surprised they got walked by Jax, but not surprised this team isn't performing well.

Maye is doing as well as one could hope given the war crime around him...

Only because this week defenders dropped the errant passes that were caught for INTs last week.

Plenty of suck to embrace.

Embrace it all. Because it needs to look like this for things to really change with the model of the team going forward. We have the QB it's about putting pieces around Drake, I sense guys are quitting on defense wich is shocking..

Don't be surprised at all. Week 1 is the only game they showed up for.

Several rookie coaches are making too many mistakes…but that’s what rookies do I guess. Evan Rothstein was supposed to be a whiz with game management / situational football. Are they utilizing his skills correctly? I hope they lean on him more if they currently are not for in-game decisions.
