Oops sorry, the Cam Newton thread quickly sidetracked into Mac Jones training. LOL.

It's funny, but in reality the two are inextricably linked. As long as both are on this roster, it's going to be impossible to discuss one for more than a page without the other one coming up in some fashion.

Mac Jones will likely wear the same number as he had at Alabama #10. All of these initial jerseys sell with the #1 to represent 1st round pick. What an idiot!!

He's been a complete idiot from day one and I actually asked @Ian how I could remove him from the twitter feed on here. It's mindboggling how he is still employed to this day, that is, until you realize that the owner of the Boston Globe is also the owner of the Red Sox.

Bb has said newton is the starter. To me, that means that anybody else who wants to start instead of newton has to prove to bb that he gives the team a better chance to win than newton!

good news: newton has set the bar very low! Theoretically anybody with a pulse and basic qb experience should be able to beat out newton,

bad news: stidham with a whole year in system under his belt, could not bear out newton! Ouch!

worse news: some are expecting a rookie with a little more than a dozen college starts to beat out newton from day 1?

can’t wait to see reports from on field activities this summer.

Cam’s passer rating was 10-15 points below average last season, and it’s normally about 10 below. Looks like he is 90s Vinny Testaverde 2.0, a solid veteran presence who provides stability and leadership, a “game manager”…who also costs you a chance to actually contend.

We know BB will always do what he believes is best for the team. Right now, at this point in time Cam is the starting QB as Mac hasn't had an opportunity to change that.

What are you basing this on? Bill told us last year that Cam was the starter despite his putrid play week after week. Some believed this was the case because Stidham would have been worse but we never found that out because Bill would not start him. Now you think he will sit putrid Cam for a rookie? Not happening. We are stuck with awful Cam for this season.
