BB against the Jags

I thought we would of totally destroyed Pittsburg, so that's why I was rooting for them today. With the running game of Jax, the one 2 punch of Drew/Taylor it's going to be hard to eliminate the run. If we can just keep it to a mininum and give Jax a lot of 3rd and longs we will be fine. 3rd and long ( if the 12th man does it's job) Jax won't last.

Unlike the Steelers half our OL is not on IR, all of our WRs and RBs are healthy, and as far as I know our entire front seven is healthy too.
The Steelers were playing with two back up tackles and I believe the guard was a back up too. With the exception of Kaczur our guys are healthy, and I have confidence that Kaczur will be ready to play when he is needed.
Honestly, if we play our game and execute we will win the game. PERIOD.

They only thing the Jags can have success with offensively is Garrard turning a broken play into a first down or score. That's what the Pats D has trouble with.

We are pretty good at covering kicks. So I'm not worried about any returns. Our defense can take away their run game and intermediate passing game. Brady threw on them last year. Also, Maroney had a big run play against them. IOW, the Jaguars do not match up well with the Patriots.

I agree.. opponents favorite play against the Pats this year was the "broken" play.. I was watching the 2004 team DVD.. Boyee was that "D" unit killers..

MJD is so good he'll give our LB's trouble period. That little dude can bust out a play in a hot minute. It's honestly all about getting ahead. Take advantage of Nelson the rookie on coverage, throw some bombs and fasten up the pace, force Garrard to beat them. If the Patriots do that, Jacksonville is gonna get beat period.

If this team ****s around, Jacksonville can make this fun in a bad way. We don't want a close game because I just don't trust our front 7 to contain Taylor AND MJD.

IMO, Harrison spying on Garrard would be the key to that game. Blitz him, rush him into mistakes and when he takes off Rodney levels him.

I will say we need to avoid letting Drew run around like crazy like Addai did.

Still doesn't mean we give a mediocre QB a chance for a big play early. If they get a couple early scores, they can give us all sorts of trouble.

No concerns over our offense but our D makes me a bit squeamish, especially on the tackling side.

After reading about Gerrad's 30+ yd run at fourth and 2 that enabled them to put up the game winning FG, I am sure that our D will be primed up to keep him at bay.

Hopefully none of the players get hurt badly because this promises to be a bruising game.

However, I expect the Jags to be a bit tired after this roller-coaster victory and considering that this is their fourth consecutive road trip, I expect us to coast to an easy W.

Last season this Jags team had to beat the Pats in week 16 to make the Playoffs. They were at home in that game and they got their butts kicked.

If the Titans lose. This same Jags team will have to win in NE at night in the playoffs. Against a 16-0, highest scoring NFL team ever. Against a defense that is better than their own but who isn't facing Moss or Brady, they're facing Garrard, MJD, and Freddie T.

I don't see the problem.

On offense, I expect a gameplan similar to the game against the squeelers. Spread them out, some no huddle stuff. Despite all their sacks today, I was not impressed by their pass rush. It was more because of a poor squeelers offensive line and Ben holding the ball way to long.

Yep. Spread offense. No huddle. When the Steelers did that tonight, they had the big fatties on the Jax D-line sucking for oxygen. Hines Ward was eating them alive. No point in trying to run the ball against that defense.

Spread 'em out. Make 'em run.

The key on offense is evidently to read and react to the blitzes. (The other candidate keys are pabulum -- don't turn the ball over, etc.)

On defense it's take away long gains to the RBs, which involves covering them on pass plays, staying in gaps on the defensive Front Seven, and tackling by all 11 defenders.

This is one thing I think NE is good at, gap responsibility, BB preaches it time and again.

I think tackling is big...our O should show up, and I would like to see a strong game by LoMo, the D needs something to prove this year in the playoffs, esp. getting off the field in third down...

Stroud on IR.
Henderson out or hobbled with a hammy.
I can't see how the Pats score under 35...

Don't sell Grady Jackson short. He's a good veteran for them.

i saw so many gaps in the jags pass defense last night..i think theres a diff with roethlisberger's offense & ours haha..we have so many more offensive weapons then steelers & they still almost won..if roethlisberger didnt have so many turnovers the steelers would of came out victorious..plus i love everybody sayin the jags might be "the team" to take the pats out hahaha
