Barmore Benching

I don’t really like the “benching for a quarter” thing if we’re being honest. Not sure what it accomplishes, and it’s very public.
I think it actually sets a good example for the team as a player with the highest salaries isn't untouchable.

However, the playoffs are another story.

That felt pretty ominous to me...

What could a player do to harm the entire team?

Protecting the team can be as simple as Barmore acting like he is above the team and Vrabel not letting that **** slide. This team has clearly put a boatload of work into establishing their locker room culture and the dumbest thing you can do is compromise that because someone is an integral talent.

I doubt it really is much, tbh.

Wow I'm shocked not one single comment about "Vrabel letting his ego get in the way and risk losing everything they've built so far over nothing. You know how I know it was nothing? Because if it was something they wouldn't have dressed him."

Disrespect coach, get his name on a police blotter, violate team rules without appropriate consequences.

There are many possibilities.

“Protect the shield”

The whole idea of the penalty is to act as a deterrent. Some times that's how things play out: the penalized party realized they did something wrong, accepts the penalty and changes their behavior. Other times the party being penalized doesn't think the penalty is fair and resentment builds.
Deterrent to others as well as to the guilty party.

At this time, it's pointless to really speculate much because we just don't know anything.

dafuq???
Honestly man, sometimes it's like you don't even know us at all

Barmore put on a lot of weight the past 6 months. Weird dream I had last night for reals: he wanted 2nds somewhere at Patriots place but unknown to Barmore...Vrabel told everyone everywhere that Barmore needs to lose weight and no longer gets seconds. Barmore not knowing this...verbally took it out on the "restaurant" staff which in turn caused the benching. This post is not meant to be funny in anyway, and I'm not saying this happened at all...just a dream I had last night.

Dreams are weird. It's funny that Onwenu would appear in your dream as Barmore...

Not too fat in this pic but some recent video show much more gut weight...

I got benched for a half once (basketball) and it taught me nothing and was soon forgotten (although here I am sharing it decades later ... so maybe...???)
I got benched for a game in HS hoops too in 1988 for making a racial slur against the asian kid guarding me. Not proud of it but TBH it was pretty mild even by today's woke standards.

One reporter said that he heard a 'player' (by name) was disrespectful to one of the low-wage grade staff at Foxboro last week. The reporter said that named player was on the field all game yesterday. So he speculated the person who told him might have got the name wrong and it was possibly Barmore.

I was thinking it was likely related to his weekly Wed "healthy - did not practice". After getting that for weeks, he maybe thought he could stretch it out. That often happens when you give one guy slightly 'more equal than others' treatment. They get entitled. If he doesnt get this Wed off; that might be an indicator.

Either way; ... Vrabel put it to bed. I think it would be best to let the sleeping dog lie.
Was it Ben Volin and did he hear it from a Twitter DM?

I think he heard it from his sisters boyfriends neighbors dogwalker; who also told him Ferris Bueller is deathly ill.
Can't have a benching without Patsfans members making up their own reasons why.

It's a pro football team, not a book club. There are going to be a few miscreants, especially on defense. Good coaches can (mostly) keep them in line, or get rid of them if they can't.
