I was impressed by this guy in training camp last year. Thought he played solid when he was asked to towards the end of last year. He even played some nickle-back on the last game of the year, if I recall.

Anyway, I thought he was solid last night. Outplayed Caldwell, for sure. Is there any doubt that this man will be the new "Troy Brown" when Troy eventually retires?

Last thought: Branch needs to come back.

Bam made good use of the opportunities they were presented with, he is making a case for a roster spot.

I am pulling for him. T Brown would have been a UDFA if there were 7 round draft back then. He seems like a real 'Patriot" type of player.

I thought Bam made the top 5 WR's roster last night, I think he solidified his spot. I though Musinski & Berlin looked good, as well as Kight. But I think the starting 5 will be Branch, Caldwell, Jackson, Brown, & Childress. If Branch & Jackson aren't there against Buffalo, I think it'll be Caldwell, Brown.Childress, Kight & Berlin (just a hunch). Not exactly a scary group to face, but with Watson, Graham, Thomas & Mills also good targets, and an improved running game, this offense may be pretty darned potent even WITHOUT Branch & Jackson, imagine the 2 of them added to it, yikes !!!

Jackson seems on track for IR.

I'd rank them Branch, Caldwell/Childress, Brown; If not Jackson, the battle will be between Stone, Musinski, Kight, and Berlin. I think Musinski goes back to Practice Squad as insurance. Erik Davis also seems on track for the Squad.

Caldwell and Childress ahead of Brown for wear and tear, plus development reasons, keep Troy for situational work.

I hope you're wrong about Jackson and the IR, I'm hoping worst case scenerio, the PUP for 6 weeks.

All Bam needs to do to solidify a roster spot is to call his tOSU buddy Mo Clarett and get some lessons on handling pressure situations. (emoticon)

But seriously, I'll offer this "me too" post to echo the pro-Bam sentiment. He looked great last night and as we all know, the WR depth has to be a concern.

I don't believe he is PUP eligible, he'll either be carried on the roster, IR'd, or waived and brought back to Practice Squad - maybe.

scott, I don't think can go back on PUP because he did practice 3 days.
I think the only option is roster or IRed now.

I like how they split out faulk into the slot as a the 4th or 5th wideout depedning on a tailback in or not. He could have a huge year receiving, essentially being a wide recv'r at times. They could put two back in on 3rd down and put faulk in motion or even maroney as the season progresses. alot of versaility

Wow, that would shock me. We're talking about the thinnest position on the team...no way do I give up on Jackson for the season.

His hamstring would have to be torn to be IR'd. Anyone know the recuperation time if that was the case?

Jackson was present for the walkthrough on Friday. I assume they wanted to get him some exercise. He'll be back, probably for the next preseason game. The sky isn't falling, guys.

I don't think Jackson is going to be IR'ed. I'm sure he's busy studying the playbook, etc., while he's rehabbing. Hamstrings are notorious and very easy to aggravate, so I assume they're just taking him slow.

I had to follow this dabnabbed thing on nfl.com stat tracking:explative

But I could see even from the stat track, and the reactions on the pats thread here, Bam was having a great game. (Someone described to me the 29-yard "circus catch.")

It's still pre-season, but this is the kind of thing we're starved for, as BB/SP continue to pan for gold, with a great deal of comparative success... we have to bear in mind of course, that many nuggets are still plain old pyrite. Things do look good in this one case (and actually -- not reading too much into a preseason game -- for one of the "worst secondaries in the league," the 1s did a pretty decent job against the Cards' star-studded receivers and QB... were Fitz, Boldin, and Johnson all in, or is someone injured in there?)

Yeah, get Chad onto the field and (after a possible learning-curve related step back,) I think this group gets plain old scary. What I love most though, is that we can come at other teams saying "Oh no, we don't think we've got what we had in '04, a fully healthy Dillon... we have much, much more now."

I really don't want to be another team's DC if things keep looking like they are right now.

Whoa whoa WHOA. Relax, big fella. The kid's got a hammy. Let him heal, take his time, completely nip it in the bud. IR? WHY???

Holy crap, now you think "maybe" Chad Jackson would get WAIVED and make it to the practice squad??? Put the bong down, Box. You're better than that. Yikes.

They wood never waive jackson, they will put him on IR before that. Lets not forget he was considerd the best WR in the draft. BB is no fool he Knows what he is doing.

Give the new poster a break. He obviously doesn't understand how the Practice Squad works.

Childress has little competition for a roster spot as the #5 receiver. He's bben on my roster competing with whoever pioli brings in. IMHO, he really hasn't had much trouble beating out the likes of Musinski, Stone and Kight.

Don't you think that other coaches might have caught on to the old "waive and bring back when healthy" trick (*cough* Ethan Kelley *cough*)?
