But You are never wrong about anything right Andy?
Yeah, sorry if I'm attempting to sound like a know it all. I'm just getting sick and tired of hearing about the "controversy" every time Ohio State moves up.
As of last Saturday, they needed to win and have 2 teams (Baylor--who probably was going to overtake them if they won out, and one of ALA/FSU) lose. That happened. If you look at the BCS standings, Auburn was behind pretty significantly. There was no one I heard or know who thought there was even a remote possibility that Auburn would beat out Ohio State if they upset Alabama, and I watched every single possible TV show and podcast about it.
Their problem is that they not only lost a game, they got blown out by almost 50 points. They aren't going to be able to make up the difference, but as you said--we will see. Ohio State needs to win next Saturday first, or the whole thing is moot.
They lost 35-21.
What should also be taken into account is that auburn needed that crazy hail mary to beat a bad Georgia team at home two weeks ago. auburn is OK but not special enough to jump an undefeated team from a major, though flawed, conference.
I'm not going to pretend I know. I don't. I have no clue. But I can't see it happening. auburn should have lost to Georgia. They would have lost to A&M if JFF hadn't missed 2-3 series. Would've, could've, should've, I know but the point is auburn has been largely squeaking through a mediocre (by conference standards) SEC this year. This is all very logical and on point. But the BCS is non of those things.
Got it. You are right because you say you are
How about we resolve this without the need to act like a dlck? Wait a week and it will be answered. Think you can do that?
That's absolute insanity.
Auburn not only lost a game this year, but they lost 49-0. There's no controversy between #2 and #3 on any level.
The scenarios have all been played out. If Ohio State beats Michigan St next Saturday, they'll definitely be playing Florida St for the national title.
People can hate on Ohio State all they want, but their strength of schedule was actually harder than Florida State's was. When you win 24 games in a row (25 would have to get them in), you probably deserve to play in the title game even if you only played a few top 25 teams (Wisconsin, AT Northwestern who was ranked #16 at the time, Michigan St). Let's not act like Florida State had any more of a difficult schedule, because they didn't. That's a fact that can't be disputed.
8 would be much better.Hey at least we have a good race and some debates going into the last week of the season anyway.
The funny thing is that I wonder how much adding in their "playoff system" next year will change things. I am envisioning similar problems in trying to determine the #4th ranked team next season just the same
49-0 happened last year.
i could careless who wins, but bucknuts did struggle against lowly michigan. trust me we are not that good. we struggled against every decent big ten team.
8 would be much better.
Conference winner from :
SEC
PAC 12
BIG 10
BIG 12
ACC
------- that's 5
3 Wildcards
Done.

I give kudos to Alabama for their reign of dominance over the years. They were so close to the three peat.
I just want the most entertaining national championship game. No offense to your team Andy, but I fear OSU would be another punching bag for a national champion. I can't see them competing vs. FSU. They deserve to face them though if they beat the Spartans.

I know many will disagree, but I'd love to have Saban as a coach in about 5+ yrs when Belichick eventually retires. I know he didn't do well with Miami in the NFL, but I think the situation is a bit different here in NE.
Also, just for laughs,
If Duke beats FSU (Ik, lol)
MSU beats OSU
Auburn beats Missouri
Alabama vs. Auburn national title?
