Just wondering if anyone cares about the game against the Flippers?

They have won 5 games in a row and will want to finish the season with awinning record. We are 10-5 and on a pretty good run of our own.

I'm sure that the players and coaches don't have the same attitude as the fans. If they do, we are going to get pounded.

I don't think ANYONE'S looking past this game. It will be as good a test for us as Tampa Bay, if you factor in the NFC quality.

I think we lose. MIA is on a roll, with attitude. BB will rest key starters this game. Bruschi will not play. Without Bru, I could pass against the Patriots. OK, OK, I'd scream like a girl whenever Jason Taylor came near me.

I hope we win but it's difficult for me to care a whole lot.

The interesting thing here is that we have a coach of the same ilk as BB. He will attack perceived weaknesses he has seen on our team and attempt to exploit them to Miami's advantage. If he can do it, great, because Bill will then take a hard look at the actual weaknesses exploited and attempt to eliminate or minimize them before our first playoff game. Anything Saban finds will be an advantage for us too because we'll have time to try to fix it before we hit the playoff game. Saban ends up helping us as well as himself if he has a good game against us.

It will be interesting to see how we do against the run with Beisel in for Bruschi.

Now if you were passing against the pats why would Jason Taylor come near you?

I think the lack of interest is because the game is meaningless to us. We will be in the same spot (and 3 seed or 4 seed is the same spot really) whether we win or lose.

From a player standpoint, its another challenge. You can bet BB is telling the team that this is a big test of readiness. That this may be the best team we have faced in the second half of the season, and to be truly ready for the playoffs, we need to go out, and see how good we are against this team.
On top of that, the same old BB "there is a game on the schedule, we need to go out and play our best" will be ingrained too.

I'd imagine the idea the division competition may be closing in on us, and the fact that we lost to them last year will be used too. Plus sweeping the division is another goal to leverage off.

Sum it all up, and the Pats will come to play.

Finally, I think one thing that is consistent in the NFL, and maybe moreso here, is how pride in doing your job as part of the team is stessed. Ive never been in the Patriot film room, but I have a pretty strong feeling that you dont want to be the guy who gets punked on any play. Definitely, they all know the film review after this game going into the playoff game will be intense.

Exactly. I always will hate the Fins, so any win against them is good. But it really does not mean jack ****.

I think we come to play and I think we win. On the roll that this team's on, they will want to keep their momemtum heading into the playoffs.

Miami = Jax?

Actually, at first glance, Miami is probably a good rehearsal for Jacksonville. Similar strengths in running game ad passing. Both have decent defenses. If anything, with Fred Taylor banged up, Miami might have a better runnung game. Like the idea that Saban will try to pick on our weaknesses. One would assume that would be the secondary, but IMO, their runnung game is stronger than their passing game, so I guess we'll see how that goes.

Agree with most of what you said. That's why this is an interesting game and more people should take it seriously.

watch out

miami is always a tough game, no matter what the records. y'all remember what happened in the 2nd game last year.
one thing: i don't recall the last time i saw the Fish play well up here in a cold-weather game. temperature below freezing, a little wind, a tricky field, all set them off kilter.
i'll TiVo this game, watch a few times this winter. ILBs, safeties should look good in a game like this. OL shold do OK. Brady and WRs should have a good game of catch.

Are we just flipping off the Flippers?

Not me.

I'm really up for this game. I hate looking ahead to the play-offs, think Miami will be a great battle, love the way the team approached the Jets game (played hard, tried to play conservative, tried to choke the life out of a weak team, not to humiliate them). Goodness knows when I will actually get to watch it, though -- have to wait for the DVD to come through the post and that is a LONG business here at this time of the year.

Thought that I would bring this up again to remind people that we have a game coming up in a little over 2 hours.

They are a better team than the one we palyed in Mia. And, a good test for us going into the playoffs.
