Any word on Chung and Amendola?

Teams owe it to their customers to try and win every week.. It is one thing to rest players nursing injuries.. It's another to simply bench players people expected to see when they bought tickets..

Tickets cost too much for any team to put out a half effort..

It's wrong.. But that is my humble opinion..

And what is your view on pre-season games?

Wasn't practice, it was a walk thru

What exactly is the difference between a practice and a walk through? Does missing a walk through have any implication on whether or not someone might practice the next day, or are they mutually exclusive?

Missing a walk thru usually means you're not gonna play that Sunday. Just that.

MoonshineSammy, as a Jets fan, you get what you deserve...

Chances are that if you don't participate in a walk-thru, you are not part of the gameplan for Sunday

Uh, moron. I am a pats fan and if you actually read my post(assuming you can read) it clearly says teams should go all out and try to win every game..

Another asshat.

The Goal for the fans (or most fans) and the team is to win a championship. Whatever that entails. If it means resting players then so be it.

No, our definitions are the same and the only difference is how we're applying them. As beat up as this team is, gaining HFA and the two weeks rest that will come along with it makes this game a must win to seal it. The benefits are as follows:

1. Two weeks of rest for all the players who are beat up and need it and another two weeks for a guy like Edelman, coming off a broken foot, unless the team wants to use him sparingly against Miami.

2. Home field in a New England winter and not having to play at a place like Denver where the altitude can effect the team.

3. Knocking a scrappy division rival out of the race and all but ending their season.

Those three things considered, I would label this a "must win". As I said before, I suspect Belichick and the team agrees with that stance and expect to see everyone out there this week that can go.
They already have the extra week off.

That's the point, they're playing just for HFA, not for HFA plus the bye.

So resting players who are dinged up isn't risking not having the bye, it's giving them an extra week of rest.

Good then make it free since it isn't a real game..

You can make the argument resting players doesn't work as many teams have come out flat..

It's the entertainment biz.. Do you think people who bought tic for this game in the summer want to see anybody but Brady??

Do you actually think people who bought a ticket to the final game of the season are stupid enough not to realize there's a great chance that starters will hardly be playing? It's not like it doesn't happen year after year, so everyone's on notice that if you buy a ticket for the last game or two of the season you're taking a calculated risk that you may be seeing a preseason game.

I don't have any problem with facing either Cincinnati or Pittsburgh in an away contest for the AFC championship, but I wouldn't want to go to Denver. The Pats have had a hard time winning there for decades. The Broncos are still alive as regards the number one seed.

Wow. I think you're really on the wrong side of this discussion.

I think you buy a ticket for the complete experience. Environment, Other Fans,TailGating, The Game, The Food, The Stadium and of course The Team. Otherwise just stay at home and watch the game for Free on TV. You'll probably see more of Brady on the tube than in the stadium.

On a side note: Why do fans of other teams buy tickets??

Depends on which day- missing a practice or walk-through earlier in the week is not as big a deal as missing a practice on Wed (installation day) or the day before a game.

Uh, that isn't even the point..

The point is if you pay a premium price for tickets you should be able to see the stars and a legitimate game, not some bogus half effort.. But you seem like the type that would enjoy a half assed effort.
