Any word on Chung and Amendola?

I think if there's any team out there right now who's hurting (aside from the obvious AFC South), it's Denver. I do think that they can turn things around a bit and still pose as a formidable threat against the 6th seed in the postseason (probably Pittsburgh), seeing as how the game is at home, and how they still have a tough defense.

Like you said, this upcoming DEN/CIN matchup will be worth watching no matter what. I have a feeling that we may see a stronger effort from Cincy in this game than many seem to expect, although that's just based on my opinion alone.

I agree with your hunch Sup. I think the question of "Cincy's effort" is a BFD for Cincy's psyche and they'll show up. Right here is where I think they make their statement that the paper tiger Cincy teams of the past are no more -- that a critical late season game with major PO implications will be the game they 'show up' at a top tier/non paper tiger level.
But I'll tell ya this, if they lay an egg (most especially on D) for a game like this the whole football world is going to yell 'same old Cincy'. While some will try to pin it on 'if we just had Red Rider back', there won't be any escaping the legacy of the past getting pasted to their foreheads for them to see every time they look in the mirror.

You and the others are posting your complaints in the wrong forum. This is a Patriot fan forum. You want to lodge your complaints on a football attendee forum.
As Patriot Fans we want the Patriots to win the SB. Needlessly risking Brady or DA or anyone critical to the end goal of winning the SB for the sake of pleasing an attendee who wants to get a glimpse of Brady is, IMHO, not a Patriot fan view. It is a football attendee view.

Hypothetically, if this can even mathematically happen, if the Jets secure the sixth seed this weekend and win or lose in week 17 they are the 6th seed, feel free to start a forum/letter campaign to urge the Jets to play Revis all game in week 17. You'll get similarly disregarded in a Jet fan forum but you may get traction in a Jet football attendee forum. They may just want to see Revis play regardless of it having the distinct possibility of hurting the Jets chances to win in the POs.
Nobody is talking about players who are nursing injuries..

Man, people are so reactionary they can't make a distinction..

It is about tanking games and putting out a minimal effort.. and benching perfectly healthy players..

Every game should be played to win
.

You completely missed @TheBostonStraggler 's point. The goal of the team is to win the championship and the goal of the fans is to see the team win the championship. If the way to maximize the odds of winning the championship is to rest a bunch of perfectly healthy players the last week or two, so be it, and no true fan should have a single problem with that.

If you, a football attendee, want to mostly guarantee you see a game where starters play, don't buy a ticket to the last couple of games of the season. It's not rocket science.

Not everyone that goes are people like us that follow every single story every day, and whose life revolves around it..

I'm fact we are the minority..

If you think it is ok to sell somebody tickets for four hundred dollars and put out an effort where you pull down your pants and grab your ankles that is ok for you..

It's Jets week... And Tom Brady is not sitting anyway.. And neither is Gronk.. So you should be pissed.

I mean you prefer they lay down after all.

Straw man argument FTW.

I prefer they do whatever the coaching staff thinks makes it most likely they win the Superbowl. I expect that'll be playing to win this week to try to lock up the #1 seed and then if successful, resting lots of people in the final week.

If you're stupid enough to buy a ticket to a week 16 or 17 game expecting to see starters playing a whole game, when it is a common practice throughout the league and has been for years to rest starters for all/most of the game when the game has little or no meaning to playoff seeding, that's on you. It's not like you haven't had notice. And nobody forced you to buy the tickets.

I'll feel a little bit bad for season ticket holders since they did have to buy those tickets, but then they also had plenty of time during the season to unload them if they didn't want to take the gamble that the game could be meaningless.

BTW, do you also ***** and whine when a team with a huge lead (or the team getting blown out) pulls its starters? All your "arguments" apply to that case as well.

Circular argument.. People get all ***** when you don't see it their way... The road to the super bowl is paved by bending over..

You're right. The team should risk pointless injuries in Week 17 after they have everything all wrapped up because someone bought a ticket without getting a gun put to their head and they demand it. That worked out well in 2009 amirite?

Why are people getting all chafed in the loins over this?

I live in FL. The minute I saw the schedule come out, I knew I more than likely would not be going to Miami for the game since the odds are they will rest the starters. Yeah, this is not rocket science, I will hopefully catch em next year. Now if the lose to the Jets, things may change.

Did it work for the Colts who threw away football immortality??

You can make the argument it is less healthy not to stay sharp.. Many times teams that turn it off come out flat in the post season..

Talk in to me..?? These morons here are the ones using a circular argument and won't stfu about it..

I guess there is supposed to be one universal opinion on everything

LOL...

1. That Colts team wasn't nearly as injured as this Pats team currently is.

2. Resting starters didn't stop them from advancing to the Super Bowl.

3. The team that beat them in the Super Bowl also had the 1 seed locked up and rested.

And you still haven't refuted anything that's been said in this thread. You basically just keep repeating yourself because, I suspect, you're trolling. Or just bored. Not sure which. And I know you don't really follow the Patriots, but the 2014 Patriots won the Super Bowl while resting their core group in Week 17. The 2013 Seahawks did it as well. So if you don't want to see a game where a beat up playoff bound team rests their guys because they have nothing to play for and their goals are to win a championship instead of appeasing some overweight middle aged guy that spent $100 on the ticket and feels entitled, then don't buy a ticket. It's really as simple as that.
