Antonio Brown accuses Bucs of wanting him to play on injured ankle (update: finally released)

No, the text said AB paid 100K to AG and wanted 50K back. AG responded by asking him where to send the balance...then AB oddly wrote in his IG story that AG didn't do any work. Well, if he didn't do any work, why is he asking only for 50K and not a 100K?
Gotcha. Thanks. Man this is f-ed up.

Damage control

LOL at all the Bucs fans who thought Brady was going to smooth things with BA over so AB would come back and save the team…

Nah there was no shot after he left the way he did. I am shocked with how many people think it was possible they'd bring him back

1. Y’all all would be crying if it were you.
Would I? you don't know me mate. If I had reached the NFL level I think I'd have also had the maturity to understand that my team is trying to repeat as Superbowl contenders and that requires people to sacrifice and play through the pain.

Heck in 2016 we had Martellus Bennett playing through a bad wheel, we've had Gronk play through bone fractures, Edelman's knee, The Eternal Shoulder of Tom Brady, I doubt Harris's hamstring is in perfect condition right now -- these things happen in football. The pay is worth the pain, but the pain is still there.

2. Doesn’t make it right.

He signed on the dotted line. Also I doubt Brown's chosen tactics in objecting to the Bucs' request were in any way mature or reasonable.

also… the “so and so needs help” line. It’s narcissistic. You get to throw someone under the bus while also saying look at how thoughtful I am.

bill wouldn’t have said SHYT. He would’ve been like “well see what happens” and move on. Why I like his style.
Not sure what you're even saying here.

Did AB pay AG up-front? Seems like AG wanted to send AB an invoice and AB is saying he didn't do anything.

He paid 100K up front, but for unknown reasons (probably the vax card) at some point AB and AG broke off the training arrangement. AB requested half his money back since they weren’t working together. AG politely agreed to refund it and asked AB for his banking info (which AB posted before deleting…lol)

Then AB tried to complain even more about it.

I think it is fair to assume that Antonio Brown is not a very intelligent person.

Or he's a mad genius
How much did Oakland pay him for spending the summer?
How much coin did AB ultimately cost NE for his week of service?
And it sure looks like he's getting a full 18 weeks from Tampa given the updated narrative and their lack of follow through in cutting him.
Then, the idiot savant just might have grounds for a lawsuit if his injury claims can be substantiated

The poor guy! Look at that ankle. The man can hardly stay upright while he takes off his jersey. There's no way he could have played. He can barely make it halfway around the field. It looked so painful to hop up and down flapping his arms at that fans. And then running to the locker room! What courage! What perserverence! No man has ever been willing to go through so much agony to walk away from a $3.1 million job.

Well, the Bucs are going to have to rely on some guy named Cyrus Grayson as the 2nd receiver lol.

They’ve still got Brady, Mike Evans, and Gronk. They’ll be fine. Brady got the Pats to an AFCCG with Edelman, a hobbled Amendola, and the corpse of Austin Collie, and with Hoomanawanui as the top TE.

It's only about $50,000, but it sure seems to me that by not cutting AB - and assuming he continues staying away from the facilities and games - that Tampa Bay won't have to pay the (otherwise) guaranteed portion of his contract.

IOW, if they cut him they have to pay him. By not cutting him, they can say he bailed on them.

Yes, that was in a weaker AFC with Belichick as the coach. The Pats have never had to deal with the likes of this year's Green Bay, Dallas, Arizona, and LAR squads. The Bucs might get by Philly, but then it's off to GB or LAR. It'll be much easier for those teams to zone in on Gronk and Evans now. They can then add an extra defender in the box to shut down Fournette.

You must be stuffing down buckets of KFC right now in celebration.

LOL, if Brown came back to the team, you'd be doing cartwheels since it's going to help your Tommy. Besides, why are you here? You said that the football discussion in the Bucs thread was "more intelligent."

Tom will be good to AB as long as AB plays football for him.

I don't know about Gronk - 20 concussions is mind-boggling to think about.

Gronk isn't the only player that has to worry about multiple concussions throughout their careers. A large percentage of current and former players have as many or more concussions as Gronk. And I am not sure how it is Brady's responsibility to care for him and his well-being after he retires.

AB is a whackadoodle......but I also just can't casually dismiss the mistreatment of a player with an injury......the NFL track record on forcing players to play, lying to players who are injured, using them up and tossing them aside is pretty well documented.....

this is a total hot mess from top to bottom, but it might just not be that AB is nuts......there might be some fire beyond the smoke

if anyone really cared about AB, they would get him some help for his mental health issues.
