Andrew Luck Retires from NFL

People are going to rip on this post, but it isn't that wrong. I wouldn't call him a bust, but he was absolutely a disappointment. Dude was billed as the next great, sure-thing QB, to the point that they bailed on Manning to get him. All for a guy who retired before age 30 having never made an all pro team. If you were billed as the next great thing, failing to be a top 5 QB at any point in your career has to be considered a disastrous outcome considering the expectations.
Agreed. People were saying he had GOAT potential before he ever took a snap.

Idiotic statement

He was a bust. Overhyped from the very beginning.

Terrible post season QB. Morons such as yourself, will make excuses like always and blame the OL amongst a litany of other factors on why Luck did not live up to his billing.

How many busts throw over 40 TDS in a season. And how many take average at best rosters with average at best coaching to the playoffs, and a title game. Being a bust and not living up to expectations are different things.

Is drew bledsoe a bust? Absolutely not

Or to put it another way, he was the right choice to take #1 overall in that draft, despite how short his career turned out to be.

Truly amazing that that organization had 2 of the best/most promising QB’s of their generation in the last 20 years and have one Super Bowl to show for it. I like Luck and this really does suck for him but the Colts failed him. Irsay deserves this.

“The energy, you know, is sort of sucked out of you,” Luck said. “You feel deflated. … Aw shhhh…”

Not so funny anymore
How does a franchise QB get “mentally worn down”? I’m so glad that didn’t happen in our situation.

What part of "I wouldn't call him a bust, but he was absolutely a disappointment" was unclear to you?

At 29 years old! Wishing him luck in his next chapter. TB12, on the other hand, is 42 and wants to keep rocking til 45.

  • Josh McDaniels, right again.
  • Thanks Grigson! Your negligence wasted Luck's entire career. Also Pagano's offensive system which exposed him to hits. Luck was managed well last year with a good OL and a passing attack designed to protect him for the first and only time in his career. It Sucked 4 Luck to be drafted by a spectacularly dumb franchise.
  • Who was the football podcaster who kept saying his probably Super Bowl prediction was Colts vs. Eagles? Oh yeah, Matt Williamson of Locked On. Will have to change now. Their GM has been getting lots of praise for the turnaround. Maybe they'll be OKish? (9-7 territory?)
  • Headline: Colts Run Out of Luck
  • So Colts have his rights until 2022? In 2023, sign on as a Pats backup.
  • Checked the Colts' future picks. They have a full compliment plus an extra #2 next year (Redskins)
  • Good luck (hee) to Jacoby Brissette! Hope you can establish yourself as a starting QB for a while.

Irsay's dealer should have a busy night...

So, Colin Cowherd said the Patriots had absolutely no chance at winning the Super Bowl when news came down of Josh Gordon’s suspension. Then he said the Colts were going to be the next dynasty in the NFL.

Fricking Nostradamus.

He proved capable of playing at a high level, his body just gave out on him.

Sure, he played at a high level in the worst division in the AFC until lately.

Mahomes is better than Luck ever was.

Not to mention being pretty awful in the playoffs.
