AJ Brown what price?

I'd say we have a better chance at AJ then tee Higgins...

Oh really? How would Philly overcome a $31 million dead dead cap hit by trading Brown when they are just $18 million under the cap and have some major free agents? How in the world would be have a better chance that Higgins who had not resigned yet?

Adams was traded to the Raiders for a first and second round pick. That is the better comp. Not the Adams trade to the Jets. Adams was 31 and looking to be on the decline when he was traded to the Jets. Adams was 28 and was coming off a 1,554 yard and 11 TD season when he was traded to the Raiders.

Brown is still 27 and is coming off a 1,079 yard and 7 TD season in 13 games played this past season. He is still a 1300-1500 yard and 9-13 TD WR and still in his prime.

Both Diggs and Judon were well into their 30s when they were traded.
Agreed with you! I was referring to the most recent trade transactions that's where you have to look as as the NFL is a what have u done for me lately type league.. diggs was still productive in Buffalo.. Vrabel was furious that AJ was traded from Tennessee. Basically if it ever were to materialize it would be something along these lines below:

No. The current team is responsible for the unallocated signing bonus cap. Eagles would have a dead cap of about $31 million if they traded Brown.

Why Eagles' A.J. Brown isn't a realistic trade target for Patriots
Can you be a little more subtly next time with your No!!

That link doesn't show anything about the Eagles salary cap problems. Ok, so they split the dead cap over two years. How in the world do they pay Jordan Davis and Jaylen Carter next year when they become free agents with a $20 million cap hit loom? How to they replace Williams and Sweat with just $8 million is cap space this year if they trade Brown?

Fortunate for us we don't have to worry about that. We are simply patriots fans On the fan forum that are all wanting our team to improve. I hear everything your saying and it's logical.. I guess I'm more of a optimist than a pessimist. I would love AJ brown though.

Still not possible Real: see posts on this page.
Your right PF2...I think we should just go into the season with what we have.. we Will never ever be able to trade or sign a player... oh no what will we do! The scary cap we can't do it!!!

Lets be honest here...you dont find that strange?

Not in the least. I think it’s easy to get distracted in the moment, and helpful to remind yourself to stay focused on the process. I use my note function on my phone to remind myself of certain things when I’m playing golf.

Who wouldn't love him? That's not really the point. The OP is asking the price of AJ. There is no price. Some of us are just realistic and understand the implications of how the team can actually improve. Others just want to live in a fantasy world. That's fine. To each their own. I am not a pessimist. I am a realist. There is a huge different. Reality says AJ Brown is not getting traded no matter how much the optimist wants to fantasize.

That is not what he was saying at all. There is a huge difference about signing and trading for players who are actually available compared to living in a video game world where everyone is available. The Pats have to build a team based on reality and not some fantasy of AJ Brown who isn't getting traded. There is not a single person on this forum who is saying we should be going into this seasons with out signings or trades. That is trash.

No body knows anything until a deal is done. The pessimistic comment wasn't directed at you.. I'm a fan.. and anyway the team can improve you explore. Vrabel has already adequate mention of the state of the roster. If 2 teams so chooses to make a deal they will.. let the GMs do thier jobs and worry about cap and dead money.. so who do you see in your reality that we can acquire. Is kupp or Deebo a fantasy too.?

Relax goblin, just having a little fun... laugh a little will ya..

Shoring up LT the anchor of the OL once that is solved the rest of the line can play sound football. It was beyond embarrassing watching the LT position last season. On RT Wallace and Robinson were rookies and injured last season I like marrone to really help these guys. Jacobs will be back at dollar general. On defense.. we had 28 sacks.. no pass rush whatsoever.. adding chase young, BJ hill along with Bentley, healthy Barmore and taking Carter at 4 substantially makes the front 7 better. Adding chavaious ward at CB2 across from gonzo also helps coverage.
This is an incredibly generous reading of the Patriots offensive line in 2024.

I saw zero starting-quality players on that line last year, and that includes the highest paid player on the team, Mike Onwenu. David Andrews is washed, and the closest to starting quality, maybe, was Cole Strange.

They need to bring in a minimum of 3 new starters on that line this year, that's the kind of thing I'm talking about. A left tackle isn't going to solve all the problems, when the right side of the line is a complete sieve.

In fairness, that was Mike Mayock, the TV guy, making that deal.
He doesn't have a job anymore, and that's part of the reason why.

Nobody is handing the Pats a #1 receiver. I know we're desperate for WR talent, but it's not happening this offseason.
