Florio, who is picking the Pats, and Simms make an interesting point in the video below; they say that Mahomes must step up for KC to win, and that he hadn't consistently in the big stages he's been in this season, especially late this season. They imply the stage may be too big for him in his first trip to the AFCC.

They were coached by DeGuglielmo who was then fired and was just fired from the third job he had since then despite IND investing significantly in new OL personnel and playing well.

The entire Guglielmo saga has been retold so many times I don't even want to expand on this anymore but I recently stumbled over this from a Colts beat writer:

And that pretty much confirms many things we were saying after the 2015 OL meltdown. Guglielmo inherited a really good OL from Scar in 2014 and rode that to a SB. In 2015 when we lost a couple of the veteran players and injuries struck he was not able to compensate. The run blocking was pretty sub standard as well.

The one weird piece of the puzzle for me is that McDaniels hired him when it looked like he would be the Colts HC.

Looks like this game might be decided by players and coaches after all..

yep . smart physical players go a long way in January..

Lmao

Didn’t see the need to start a new thread for this but Field Yates came across the Wikipedia page for the AFC Championship and it read as follows:

“ The AFC Championship game is an annual event wherein one of the top teams in the AFC gets to play the New England Patriots for the right to go to the Super Bowl.”

Paraphrased slightly and I don’t have time to link it but you get the idea.

Looking for a big day by Josh Gordon and Dion Lewis.

Glad they are healthy and ready to break out with a big game.

sounds about right

When mega homer Matt Chatham is saying that this game is basically a pure tossup maybe some of us here really concerned about the game aren’t a bunch of haters after all.

The guy bought it on nfllonlocation.com directly from the NFL. You can’t sell those...

How will they stop him? Do they put your name on the ticket and you need to show your ID at the gate or something?

The Steelers have been to 16 AFCCGs and the Patriots only 15. We can't let them get away with that! Not to mention we need to pass them in SBs or at least tie them!

If the Patriots win this year and next year they will have both more SBs and AFCCG appearances (assuming the Steelers don't make it next year too). Sounds like a goal to me!

Which of those stung most ?
What bothered me was they went there.

I was saying to another poster I didn't troll one bit, tried to have genuine discussion (although I was being assertive and didn't give an inch) and was still insulted. Probobly kids/Internet toughs. Whatever.

He's not wrong

Googs seems like a one trick pony coach.

If accurate I question Joshs ability to hire good coaches. Granted Bill hired him but rightfully sent him packing

Eberfluss on the other hand is a smashing success and a HC somewhere in 2020.

No one knows the outcome of any game before it's played.

Homers = Remember witnessing the unbelievable magic Brady and the Pats have pulled off over the last 18 years and still believe he can do it again.. And just watched him rip a team that was labeled "the best team top to bottom" to shreds.

Haters = Somehow missed the last 18 years. haha

We’re definitely gonna need a couple of turnovers again. Mahomes is, at times; very careless with the football (getting cute with ball while rolling out of the pocket/ throwing into double coverage). Hopefully we can get a couple of forced fumbles & picks.

Jam Hill & Kelce at the line & disrupt their timing. Obviously, easier said than done. Keep a deep safety back there for Hill. Make them drive the length of the field & hope Andy Reid outsmarts himself...again.

I think I realized they can’t stop him since I was under the impression you would have to pick the ticket up right before the game.

Oh and hopefully we have Ernie up in the booth looking at what the chiefs are doing.

Yes, but hopefully he won't force Bill to challenge anything not worth challenging like last week....
