A Frustrating Observation On N'Keal Harry

Running behind massive holes created by Gronk, Develin, and a massive OLine wasn't hard. You can see in his yards after contact stats he just fell down when touched. But the running lanes were huge. So many other replacement players would have done equally well as a Pats RB without burning a 1st round pick
Sony also has averaged 112 yards per game in the playoffs. Chubb 72.5.

Im okay with the Sony pick

I would classify as an above-average contribution by a 1st rounder, which, considering any given pick a lottery of sorts, its definitely way better than "bad". I hope all the best for him, and in hindsight, Id take back the trade and release JJ taylor for him, easily. Being consisently good in the playoffs IS a trait not all player have

Chubb being picked later is a stinger, but we cant really judge in hindsight (says the guys who just did it)

Sony was listed as a better OVERALL Prospect coming out...they were 4 picks apart, it's not like Sony was pick 5 and Chubb pick 35.
How many times have we seen that, Curtis Martin was a 3rd rounder, look at the BUMS picked WAY b4 him!
JaMarcus could throw 60yds on 1 knee, he SUCKED....
NOONE hits on EVERY Pick.
As much grief as Sony get's here, he's a pretty good runner when he's healthy, and I had no problem with him.

This has probably been posted already, but it bears repeating...

Thats the outcome when a player doesn't know where to line up, can't run routes well, can't read defenses, has slow reaction times, can't create separation and who's hands are essentially coordinated involuntary muscle movements.

He did his job and helped us win a super bowl…can’t complain.

I've personally been pretty patient with Harry, he was hurt his 1st year, and Brady is notorious for not throwing to folks in the wrong spot, then he had Cam...not a real qb.
This year he has a rookie QB, but I don't know if he's been in the right spot or not...my guess? Probably Not.
He can block like a beast, but I'm thinking they missed...I was actually hoping they'd try him as a move TE to try and get SOMETHING out of him.
It happens... unfortunately.
As well as they have done, we don't know if AJ/Deebo/DK would have grasped THIS system, I suspect that they at LEAST would have been better than Harry, lotsa teams also passed on those guys.

Un-****ing-believable.

And lets not forget that we FORCE FEED HIM the ball. Most of those targets were designed to get this abortion a chance.

Im just glad everyone came around. When we were in the Winning Streak, every single "Harry is not that bad", "He can block well" made me cringe phisically

CUT.
THIS.
BUM.

Harry is officially my most hated Pats ever.

I was patient up until this year as well.

1st year. Rookie. This system is not easy on rookie WRs. Brady in his final year being cranky. Injured in TC. Fine. He gets a pass.

2nd year. No OTAs. Covid. Abridged TC. Cam as QB. Not a very good team. OK. I cut him some slack again.

....meanwhile Meyers has a very good 2nd year. He breaks through.

3rd year. No excuses. I'm done. He sucks.

I can't argue, he's had a decent shot THIS year, and other than blocking, he's been pretty PATHETIC.
His 5th won't be picked up imo, and he'll probably be traded for a 5th before the draft.

It happens.

Teams have done worse than that before, he was highly ranked coming out, so a 5th COULD be had IF they believe the Pats didn't use him right.

I'm HOPING for that anyway.
Maybe you'll be correct, we'll see.
