A Frustrating Observation On N'Keal Harry

2 games left and a play off run to show what he can do or will it be another pre-season to get on the 2022 53 man squad ?

Unfortunately, I think we already know what he can do…

not that I disagree, but I wonder if we threw him more 50-50 balls when he is single covered, maybe he could surprise us.
I not sure if I like this idea anymore. Is it called a 50-50 ball because it is means there is an equal chance that the WR or the DB has a chance of catching it? If so, then I don't like those odds with N'Keal. A year ago, with Cam and the lack of true targets we had, I would have been in agreement.

In college, Harry was a master of 50-50 balls.

I can not for the life of me figure out why bb drafted him, but maybe he could contribute more doing the one thing in the pass game that he is good at.

You answered your question with your first sentence. I think Bill wanted some size and someone that could win 50/50 balls on the outside. He just picked the wrong guy.

Yes.

Considering our success with players in 20-50 range, Sony Michel can be considered a home run . We got value from just his rookie season. He was a serviceable back for the remaining 2 years. Wynn has tremendously regressed and we will owe 10illion next season for him.

the second round DBs barring dugger is where we lost the plot...

maybe with Brady we were able to elevate offense and the bend don't break defense worked as we could outscore. Now with Mac , we need the defense to be a monster but sometimes it reflects the middle tier defense and on those days the offense is simply not able to elevate themselves.

we will just be a 9- 11 win team with this balance. Either Mac hits a different ceiling or our defense plays lights out consistently . unrealistic expectations but what can I do, Brady has pampered us a lot over the last 2 decades.
Saying that Mac is what he is and had hit his ceiling is the worst kind of stupid. The dude has played really well in the hardest offense to pick up in the league. He doesn't have the weapons that a lot of these other guys do and he's still going to get us to the playoffs. Perennial 9 and 7 based on his rookie year play is laughable

Whatever that play was which resulted in the long catch in Indy, Bill & Skippy should call it again tomorrow… just not on 3rd down or deep in our own territory of course…

But that’s the thing: this was Not the hardest offense in the league for Mac to pick up, because he learned and then ran the same one in college… He in fact entered the league with a head start on Every Other QB drafted, not only this year but in a quite a few years maybe…

true.

It's simple. Imagine an oc who thinks like an 8 year old. This draft was right after Gronk retired. Thought process was literally 'he reminds me of Gronk, big guy', who they drafted when the oc wasn't even here for that one. Brady took one look and immediately knew the kid couldn't play

He didn't run Erhardt-Perkins at Alabama. He also has a photographic memory and got his masters degree in 4 years. The dude is just smart. There'd very few rookies that can effectively play the Pats offensive scheme their first year

This is another exaggeration that seems really unfair. An 8-year-old? Really? Josh may not be your cup of tea, which is fine, you're entitled to your opinion, but I'm sure if he was incompetent at his job BB would've moved on from him years ago. Josh McD works really hard at his job and the Greatest freakin' QB that has ever played football constantly referred to him as a great OC. I think I'll side with BB and TB, over anyone else.

Then what offense did he run there?

They call it the Spread offense and from what I can see it's a pass first offense, where the are almost always under shotgun or pistol, with a lot of RPO concepts and empty sets and hurry up. It's pro style in the sense it gives the QB options to call certain plays or change the play based on what they see on defense

He needs to go. I was entertaining him being on the field when short handed as he supposedly provides decent blocking in the run game. But that drop he had against the Bills, that was just the last damn straw. He’s had plenty of chances.

Ian makes an astute observation about lackluster Harry.

But it gets worse. He runs at three quarter speed on most plays during the second half of the Bills game.

His attitude seems to show itself by his actions. He doesn’t want to play here anymore and is daring Belichick to trade him.

I wonder what value if anything we could get for him.

Would not shock me if we’re having the same conversation a year from now. If Bill doesn’t bring in significant upgrades, I think he hangs around again.
