49ers Mac Jones Bombshell: Joel Klatt says Mac Jones was the original choice for SF.

I disagree.
Looks like you’re disagreeing just to disagree without any explanation or proof to support your stance.

It clearly states the timeline and how Lynch was hired in the articles.

If you have something that refutes this, please provide it other than “I disagree”.

To give up your entire draft of two years for the rawest prospect imaginable at QB FROM AN FCS school is absolutely nuts.
I don’t think ANY QB in the last 5 drafts, besides maybe Lawrence, was worth giving up what SF gave up. That being said, to act like they got garbage at 3 is foolish. Lance is a helluva prospect. Possibly the best arm in the draft (it’s close between Lance, Fields and Wilson), is built like a linebacker, can run better than any QB in the draft class. FCS has produced some good QBs. Yes he’s raw, but he’s really smart as well. It’s amazing some of the things he did as a 19 year old.

Bottom line, it’s quite possible 2 of the 5 QBs picked in the first round could be busts, maybe even 3. But I wouldn’t be shocked if all 5 wind up being decent to good NFL QBs. Let’s hope ours winds up being the best of the bunch.

All that matters now is how Lance plays, if he’s amazing nobody will give a rat’s ass what they gave up. Also I don’t know how one can say Lance is a bad prospect, based on what?

SF looks horrible here. 3 first rounders.
They couldn't take Mac. Imagine having the #12 pick and they could have stood pat and gotten Mac at #12, without giving up two more 1sts. Would have looked horrible. They basically had to spin this story and go Trey. Hilarious. Ended up perfect for the Patriots.

The worst accuracy of the 5 QB's. His offense ran the ball 70% of the time. Played no FCS team. He only averaged 160 yards passing per game !

Should have gone with there first instinct. IMO Lance was a terrible pick as well.

I tend to be weary of QBs that run too much. The ability to run is nice, but it usually comes at a cost. Brady is the best pocket passer overall of all time when all things are considered. A big part of that reason is because he couldn't run. It forced him to not use his legs as a crutch and to develop those skills. It also kept him healthier overall. On the other hand it kept him from creating a few plays he would have otherwise if he could have run around to gain yards.

You are taking speculated information and projecting it to mean something it does not mean even if it is correct. It is refuted wholly by the fact that you jump to a conclusion that is not supported by anything other than your imagination and call it fact. I really don’t care and it isn’t worth my time to go through an explanation that leads to you ignorantly arguing, so I clicked disagree. You decided you ha r to turn that into an argument multiple times now. You are free to have your opinion whether people see the flaws in it and disagree or not. How about we leave it at that, because your pissing match you seem to want to engage it will go nowhere and is the kind of thing that brings the quality of this board down.
you think what you think, I disagree. Let’s end it there.

@Ring 6

Smh.

************. How old are you?

I can't imagine putting in this much effort because some mean person clicked the wrong icon under your post...

Of course they are gonna SAY that now! Nobody likes to look stupid!
Ok, so you trust an unnamed source that some dipsh!t on tv claims to know over the actual guy himself?

You're free to speculate, but let's call that what it is.

He's raw in the sense that of the 5 QB's taken in the first round he's easily going to need the most development time and is the least likely to start week 1. Lawrence, Fields, and Wilson are basically locks. Bill is probably going to leave it up to competition. Jimmy G will have to get hurt or have an all time bad training camp for for Lance to have a shot at takingthe field.
What makes you say he will need the most development time? I just explained all of the reasons that he doesn't need as much development time.

Let me remind you that Carson Wentz came from the same school, and no one thought he'd be ready right away. He was the "tools" pick. He beat out Sam Bradford, who was not a bad QB at the time, in Eagles training camp, and he played well right out of the gates in the NFL.

He's the least likely to start because they already have a decent starter and a playoff team. This isn't a competition vs nobodies in NY or JAX.

Too old.

It didn’t take much effort. Google is a powerful tool.
You went to another site and copy pasted because a guy did a mean thing on the internet.

Not just any guy - the guy who is living personification of argumentative behavior.

Yeah it’s all good, I’m dropping it.

How are you defining "worth"? Your position seems indefensible:

Mahomes
Allen
Burrow
Herbert
Watson (assuming the best, from his point of view, about the allegations)

there are 3 people everybody knows not to engage unless you want an everlasting debate....that is deus, rainmaker and ring 6

He's not raw. He ran the most pro style offense. He did the most under center. He ran the most play action. He called protections. He had full field reads. He started the exact same number of games as Mac Jones. He played in big games (FCS championship) and won his league's Heisman (the Walter Payton award). He has among the cleanest mechanics. He's among the smartest in interviews.

If so, that means that he is just innately inaccurate, which is a problem. The better scenario for the Niners would be “They are confident that he can improve his accuracy with a few minor tweaks to his throwing mechanics”.

He should really consider doing something more enjoyable....like dropping an Encyclopedia Britannica on his nuts.
