I didn’t ask about Berrios, but he did make an All Pro team as a return man.

Let’s use Danny Amendola as a barometer. Multiple seasons of 60-70 catches with 600-700 yards. That would be successful in the slot.

for me, my mind does not need to be changed
Chism might become a really good, maybe great, WR in the NFL
to date, he has done absolutely nothing
he hasn't been able to force his way onto the field in front of a jag like Pop, or a rookie who has been lost like WIlliams.
to rely on Chism, or assume the coaches see something, is simply false
any one of a few udfa's could be on the roster ahead of Chism

No, Mac Jones was a Pro Bowl alternate when nobody else would go to the game. The All Pro team doesn’t have a game or alternates.

So you think E Chism is Berrios? Or Amendola? So you don't think Chism is Edelman or Welker?

You mentioned Berrios, nobody else did.

I don’t think Chism is anybody yet. But he has a mix of Amendola/Welker type athleticism… so you saying he couldn’t possibly succeed because he isn’t athletic enough is not supported by the science.

In two regular season games he contributed: 3 targets, 3 catches, 75 yards and a TD. He played minimally in the playoffs but caught a nice 20 yard reception against the Chargers. He made the most of his minimal opportunities. That’s all he can do.

I told you Marcus Jones is a Pro Bowl caliber slot CB if the Pro Bowl had a specific designation for slot CB’s. And he is… he’s one of the best slot CB’s in the NFL.

You told us before this season began Alex Austin was going to beat out Marcus Jones as the starting slot CB… and that was dumber than a bag of bildos.

Pop led this team in every WR category in 2024, McDaniels and Drake started to unlock his potential in the latter half of last season. He’s far from a jag. That’s just dumb.

To date nobody here has made any statement about what Chism has done, or prediction about what he will become. Most have just pointed out he has the prerequisite athleticism to become a solid slot WR and potential punt returner. The science of measurables don’t lie.

He already made an NFL roster, so saying he won’t because he isn’t athletic enough is laughable.

The coaches say E Chism has a lot of heart and tries hard. You have to give him that. I am not anti-Chism, but the support Chism gets on this Board is absurd. I hope the kid makes it, but I highly doubt it. He is just too slow. Watching his kickoff returns was painful. Could Chism be a JAG? Maybe. He did make the 53 last year, but the bottom end of our roster last year was really weak. See Westover.

He already made this roster, now you say he can’t. You just said he wasn’t fast enough to succeed, when others with similar speed have.

Westover was the starting FB, that wasn’t the bottom of the roster. There was one FB on the roster and he was weak.

You seem to be anti-Chism. And I’m not even super high on Chism, I like a few of the UDFA WR’s they brought in this offseason better, but I can’t deny Chism has the upper hand because he already showed the coaches something. You don’t accidentally end up returning kickoffs or making the gameday roster. There were any number of other guys they could have used but didn’t.
