PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP 2026 Patriots Training Camp - Day 9

So cut Williams, go with the other 6 WR's, and keep Palmer on the PS?
A couple of practices ago our #1 Defense stifled Drake Maye with C Davis out. Not happy with our Offense in that set; yeah I know the Defense gets paid to play too but: it's a shame no one could shake loose. I can't wait to the Joint Practices against other Teams to get a read on this Offense.

Late-round rookie? Woodson was taken 10 picks after Watts was.
OK - what is your point then? He was not available when the Patriots picked Woodson so I fail to see your point here. Seems strange to belly ache when the guy selected in the fourth round started all year and played very well for them. Or did you want them to pick Watts instead of Wilson who was picked one pick before him? Give me Wilson and Woodson over Watts and whoever they would have picked for IOL in the fourth. I think Wilson will be a very good center. They have had two very good back to back offseasons including draft and free agency. Harping on the Woodson pick just seems like arguing for arguing sakes.

Every 3wr set had a slot. Very few teams reserve that to be a small quick guy who runs short routes. Most teams interchange all WRs into the slot.
We’re only discussing the Pats.
Bottom line, Douglas sat in the bench last year while we used 3 outside receivers and this year we have 3 better ones.
Pop started the first month of football as the starting slot WR. That changed when there was little production, but snaps and targets started to increase more as they found him a role.
Douglas’ only ability that would get him on the field ahead of these 3 is quick short routes. That will get him PT on 3rd downs like last year, but not in the base offense.
We’ll see, don’t be surprised if he’s starting in the slot once again.

Yeah let’s turn Drake Maye into Chad Pennington so we can gain fewer yards on pass plays.
He looked like Lamar Jackson in the playoffs.

Looking good against lower tier teams in the regular season is not the same as being effective against top tier defenses in the playoffs.

Teams are better in the playoffs, defenses are better, windows are smaller… being good at converting against pressure is important.

Douglas played 17 snaps a game last year. His last 8 games including the playoffs produced 12 catches for 129 yards. His momentum was in reverse
He was twice as productive in the second half of the regular season as he was the first. He led the entire team in receiving in the Super Bowl. Don’t be surprised if they start him in the slot again, like they did at the start of last year.

Youre a liar and always have been.

Provide proof and youll still try to weasel a way out.
Your “proof” says the opposite of what you claim it does.
