PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP 2026 Patriots Training Camp - Day 21

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Pats have 4 players with 5+ receiving TDs. Henry, Brown, Doubs, and Boutte. I think that Maye could see 37-45 passing TDs with this offense. Yes, I could see a 20% increase in passing TDs because of the receivers and the improved O-line
Trey and Rham are both good receivers out of the backfield.
That combo could net at least 5 rec TDs together if I had to guess.
I could easily see Drake with 45 passing TDs if our run game is underwhelming.
Selfishly I would prefer under 40 and a really good run game.
Time will tell.

I think that because of the really good run game, they are going to have MORE receiving TDs than last year. I think that, with the right calling, they Pats will have a lot more in the way of longer TDs because of the likes of Brown, Boutte, and Doubs. I think that teams will be playing less in the way of 8man boxes, but they won't have the corners to match up against the receivers the Pats put out there.

Could be.
Could be like Stafford last year who had like 100 passing tds from 2 yds or less. And yes, more longer TDs could most certainly be in play.
On the other side, less 8 man boxes could mean a lot more rushing TDs.
As long as we score lots of points I don't care how we get them.
But we definitely need to improve our short yardage running, getting the tough yards when it's an obvious short yardage running situation.
We were terrible at that last year.

Yes, we used two backups last year. Lowe was not a good RT.

Many here hoped that Lomu would be first off the bench at both LT and RT. They (we) will be somewhat disappointed if Bryant is better the Lomu at either position, requiring an additional OT to be active.
Maybe Bryant will be better at both, so your concern about an additional OT can be satisfied.

Lomu may be more talented, but he’s a rookie acknowledged to be rough and needing development, while Bryant already has a year as an NFL pro.

INTs are INTs, but at least Maye isn’t throwing the ball directly to Philly. His picks were due to bobbled catches, tipped passes or the defense simply punching the ball out of the receiver’s hands. Unlike Hurts, who seems to be working as a double agent with 7-8 interceptions in two practices.

Barefoot Chism…

The Twins.

When did Chism ditch his shoes? I see he’s barefoot in that photo, clearly Mack is converting the WR room to going unshod.

That's why they brought in Gilliam, Tucker, and Hill. Was to improve the short yardage. I think that having Van Roten will help with the Jumbo packages going forward

Could Cooper DeJean be contemplating retirement by now?

Or at least telling the coaches to have someone else cover Douglas.
Maybe both. Certainly the latter.

I’m sure he’s glad they won’t be playing us in the regular season.

Doubs + Brown = DB
They’re gonna be DB killers on Sunday.

Maybe I overlooked it, but any mention of the running game today? Interested in seeing how they’re progressing along with Gilliam in the fold.

One thing that will really help both the run and pass games: if Raridon can keep progressing and be a legit receiving factor in the passing game.
That could allow McD to run 2te sets both to pass and run.
Now D's will have a problem. Brown and Doubs demand coverage. But then you have 2 excellent receiving tes to worry about.
Plus Mondre and Trey sometimes at the same time. Both can run and catch. Or you go 1 rb and put in Pop.So many things for a D to worry about.

Was better than yesterday. Not there yet but give it time
