Thanks, I meant to tag you with that response because I knew you would have the answer.

Does the overlap from regular season to postseason alter things in any way?

Reason I ask is the whole practice squad elevation rules get reset, with no limitations in the playoffs.
No. The DTR is a strict 8. Pats have used 5. If Hollins starts practicing, it will be 6.

I need to look up about the Practice Squad IR and see how that works, because I know that Corbin was IRed and then Returned, before being cut. Not sure if that used up a DTR or not.

This was the problem. As Pats Fans we have to pretend that Campbell and Wilson are amazing, but this year they are not amazing. Let's be honest.
Isn't that a huge issue that can cost the team a SB win though? In all of Tom Brady’s SB wins I believe he always had a top 10 OL.

Repeated bad mistakes two games in a row. Let’s see if we can fix it so it’s not three. We should get Mack Hollins back next week which will help hopefully with some blocking and another option.
The interception was on a Hail Mary at the end of the first half and should be discounted. But the fumbles, yeah, particularly the one where he ran into the pile with only one hand on the ball.

Pats are back in the AFCCG since 2018 season. I was dancing like our boy Jeremy Greer after the victory formation.

Texans defense is legit, but the window with that kind of defense and lacking offense is extremely slim. This was their year to do it, but Maye and the offense fought through it. Texans defense will get older, lose players and hard to duplicate the prior year's success.

I agree with Aikman's analysis that Stroud looks to have plateaued since his rookie season. And he wasn't referring to today's game with a bunch of guys out. He's been like this for quite some time.

I asked for one drive from Maye and the offense to seal it and they did. Boutte with the catch of the year.

Maye doesn't get rattled, but he's got to play better flat out. No matter how the season ends, I'd like to see him work on his release as it's extremely slow. He missed a wide open Diggs for a big play which got batted down at the line and then stripped sacked on the next play.

Campbell played fine as a rookie going against one of the best pass rushers in the game. Texans D forced Maye to double clutch his throws.

Diggs and Douglas with clutch grabs for TD's. Hollins will be welcomed back next week.

Rham with some tough running late.

Hopefully Davis is okay for next week.

Defense was lights out all game. Jones got beat for a TD which I wasn't mad about as I wanted the Pats D to be aggressive, but he came back with a great INT for a TD later. Davis probably had the best game of his career. Refs love picking on this guy. Gonzalez continues to defend his man with ease. I think the guy is bored at times. Elliss was the new Bentley/Roberts/Tavai who posters hated, but he's making plays. Spillane is the man.
With respect to this, how difficult/easy would that be to achieve?

I did no such thing. You, and I guess, others made that leap. My comment was about Stroud doing something with the team that ended his season right after they ended his season. That is why I said him doing it is pathetic (probably could have chosen a better) and not everybody else in that prayer circle.

People chose to read more into it than it was.
People chose to read what you stated. You've spent the entire time back-pedaling since numerous people called you out on your pathetic take.

anyone know how Hollins is? I know he can come back next week, but any update on his condition?

I feel like he really adds that extra dimension that frees up space for all. Would be big on the road to quiet Denver crowd on 3rd downs.

How was it "not ugly"? The Pats fumbled 4 times, losing 2 of them.. Drake took 5 sacks. The Pats running game was basically non-existent until the 4th quarter.

The Defense played outstanding. They're the reason the Pats had the lead and kept it When was the last team the Pats had 5 turnovers?? That was dominant. But, even still, Houston kept pecking away.. They turned an 11 point lead into a 5 point lead and looked like they might be able to do more damage. Until nice PBUs by Gonzalez and Davis. Then the sack by Tonga.

Because that defense is going to force turnovers, they are going to force mistakes, they are going to kill drives.....throw in the weather, yet this offense still put up more points than 14 other teams against that defense, in that weather

It wasn't pretty, but no one is ever pretty at the end of a slugfest......but it wasn’t the doom and gloom that some want it to be, either

All those whining about Josh play calling make me laugh

He's been here before....he and BB knew in games like this you minimize mistakes and opportunities for the defense....2nd and long in your own end, sometimes it is best to go conservative, punt, live to fight another day....this wasn't a game that was going to be about who had the ball last, it wasn’t a track meet....it was a slugfest

Eat some punches, get knocked down, make sure to land your shots when they are there to be taken, and let your D do their job

I wish they had scored off their turnovers, but this was a legit top-flight defense....you would love to score every series, you always want the kill shot.....in this game the kill shot was a drive that started at your own 2, ate up 6 minutes, and ended in a punt

In this game, in this weather, with this offensive personnel, they really did limit their mistakes (even though they were forced into several), they landed their shots when they could, and in the 2nd half both Maye and the run game really chewed up that vaunted defense

Sometimes an excellent offensive gameplan doesn't look like the 2002 Rams

The only job of the offense is to help score more points than the other team. They, with the help of the defense, did just that.

That is an appropriately devised and successfully executed gameplan.

I'm the atheist defending the right for the players to voluntarily assemble, regardless of team, in prayer.
I defend it too even though a small part of me can't wrap my mind around what is going on with these players and their football religious devotion. It didn't used to be that way. They seem like the Stepford Wives to me. I defend their right to do it but it just looks and sounds weird to me. It's football. It's a sport.
