It bears watching moving forward.
Houston have a Super Defense they can bring pressure with Four only: and get creative on the back end of their Defense.

Maye's fumbles were him trying to do too much. He was swarmed and shoulda turtled (like Brady) and move on to the next play. Collingsworth pointed out even when you step up to avoid pressure good D Linemen roll back so you get blind-sided pressure. He'll learn. Bolts D was pretty good.
Josh McD can do a better job preparing him for playoff defenses. The short outlets to Rhamondre were wildly successful. Give the kid more hot routes on clear pressure plays. Westover finally caught his first career pass, they need more dump off plays.

Drake played sloppy and they still won the game. Hopefully he got his playoff jitters out of his system and wakes up.

Bolts D was or is pretty Good??

Zero Bolts offense
Final Milton Williams play was SUBLIME
What an awesome season

A lot of this comes from them expecting the Pats to beat whatever team they face in the divisional round. Assuming the Pats get that far they will be considered the underdog no matter the match up.
They would be an underdog (a small one) on the road but would be a favorite at home against anyone.

Nah... I think the bookies give the Bills -1.5 or so. Do i think they should? Different discussion but that is how it will be seen.

He's never won one single playoff game. He's supposedly a top qb in this league. People have been blaming others year after year.

Question : does prime Brady - with that cast & that coaching - score 17+ last night ? Yes. Brady = winner. Herbert = loser people love making excuses for...
I don’t know about that. That offense is kinda like the 2019-2020 Patriots offense, which also lost to a Mike Vrabel defense in the playoffs. Joe Lombardi is the only good OC he’s ever had. I hope guys like Herbert and Burrows eventually make their way to franchises with owners that know how to field a winner.

It was ugly, no doubt... Campbell got pushed around, Wilson played lost in space at various points last night... The bull rushes were fierce, and the twists etc worked well for the lac defense... The other guys get paid as well - It was good game planning by the LAC DC to put Khalil Mack & Oweh on him/Wilson last night... Hall of Fame caliber player and a very good DL vs two rookies fresh off the Injury list ... It was certainly was a learning experience for Campbell/Wilson... They will get better... no need to jump the shark at this point
I wonder if it wouldn’t be smarter to plug Brown back in at left guard. No shade on Wilson, he’s just young. Having a vet next to a rookie in Campbell, reminiscent of when BB benched Onwenu and plugged Ted Karras in at left tackle. They just needed a vet presence there at that time. Our left side is still getting abused by stunts, that’s just poor communication between Campbell and Wilson. Even a less athletic vet would see and fix that.

Ponder with another 3 pressures last night. He's had 18 pressures & 4 sacks as a part time player. He's tied for 2nd among all rookies in pass rush productivity. They should probably go with a rotation at EDGE at this point.

Saw Vrabel ripping him right after a good play by our defense, he’s still learning but shows great promise.

We just can’t keep saying this stuff.
Maye was the best qb in the NFL this year BECAUSE he extended plays and created big plays. If he “turtles” under pressure, he is just another Qb.

Yes we could turn him into a scared ****y in the pocket and he can flop to the ground at the first sign of pressure. Had this been his approach all year we would have had about 40 more sacks, about 1000 less passing yards, and hundreds fewer qb rushing yards.
We would have been a bottom 5 offense, and probably a 5-12 team. But we wouldn’t have fumbles because great players tried to make plays.

Wow, just wow. what a game. Not what I had expected....but I'll take it.

I mean, the defense CAME TO PLAY!
How about that defensive stand at the very beginning to hold the Chargers off the scoreboard! That was huge at the time but even bigger when looking back at hte game being a defensive slugfest.

How about those sacks on Herbert?!?! I FELT THOSE through the TV. Those were some big time hits.

Stevenson was a beast too. It was good that Henderson had the icing run last night becuse other than that he didn't really show much.

Henderson has the same production as a 'swing for the fences power hitter in baseball'. Sure, when he connects he'll hit the home run ball or long TD run, but otherwise will strike out (or have a run for 2 yards or less). Stevenson consistently gets 4+ yards and has been a pleasure.

A huge play from last night that might otherwise fall under the radar was the 3rd and 13 conversion to Hunter Henry in the third quarter. It looked like we were about to punt, giving the Chargers good field position and only up by 3....but this extended the drive and we ultimatley got 3 poinst from it

We disagree.

The little things: Kyle Williams had nice Block on that on that Rham Dump off that went for 48yds. KW also had a nice catch on that Fourth down that shouldn't have gotten to that: we were getting a little too cute. Also in that Long pass to H Henry... T Henderson made the key Block that made the play happen. Only Drake Maye - Mahomes and Allen makes that pass play: the Defender just missed breaking it up for possible int. That Ball was Dropped between Three Chargers: Drake Maye keeps DC's and Defenders up at nights. Also can't wait to see T Henderson and KW with a year under their NFL belts: they should be even better players next year.

We disagree.
Yeah I think it’ll be Denver -2.5 or so, and then money on Buffalo during the week will push it to Buffalo being favored, or around a pick’em at least.

I am sure that conversation will come up this week at one patriot place...

Beat the 5th rated passing defense last night.

Houston was the 6th.
Buffalo was 1st.
Denver was 7th.
Pitt was 29th.

It reminded me of Brady with Marshall Newhouse as LT back in 2019.

Brady was frustrated and yelling at coaches because they kept calling WR screens.

We played the Titans in the playoffs and were dominated. Brady threw bad INTs.

(I grant you that Brady did not look as bad as Herbert last night).
