2025 LT

There are maybe 6-7 OTs that might be considered day 1 starters: Campbell, Banks, Membou, Simmons, Conerly, Ersery and maybe Donovan Jackson. After we draft at 4 there are at least 8 teams that could go OT. My question is Do we take Hunter/carter if there or take a OT? If we do not take the OT then we really need to hope that someone wants to let us trade up. I just don't feel comfy with Hope.

It really feels like we are going to play Russian roulette in this draft. I am preparing myself to start the season with Lowe, Wallace, Jacobs and a developmental OT. Tyron Smith or DJ Humphries might be able to provide some stability while the youngsters try and train up. Its also possible that McD decides that he can give the LT enough help that he won't be a liability.
The way I see if we are fortunate enough to have that happen that means the OT prospects will slide down because there's likely a QB desperate team like the Raiders or Pittsburgh looking to take Shaduer.

If that happens, Trapilo and Grant become prime options.

To answer the question, you take Hunter/Carter or trade down. You absolutely cannot drop down to the Campbell/Membou/whoever group for need. Even if you dropped to 9 just for a 3rd rounder, that's better than taking an OL over Hunter/Carter.

Field Yates has the Patriots taking Hunter at 4.

Follows it up with a trade of 38 and 77 for 30 and 109. Then has the Patriots taking Conerly.

Home run outcome if that was possible. Other than landing Carter and Conerly/Simmons straight up with our picks, that's as good as you could.hopw for.

I would absolutely make that trade. RB, Edge or Ozzy at 69 and RB, EDGE or interior OL at 109.

I would do that for Simmons. Ersery or Conerly should be there at 38.

Who knows. I don't see how someone as athletic as Conerly makes it to 38.

I think Simmons has a better chance with the injury questions and potential maturity issues. But, as they say, it only takes 1 team ....

Id say Ersery is the best likely OT available at 38. Maybe Conerly or Simmons make it, but the amount of teams needing tackles lead me to believe they're first rounders.

As long as there's 2 available past KC I'm not too worried. But I'm banking on Eliot being a liar and selecting Will Campbell at 4 anyway.

It's no mystery but if we're taking a Offensive Tackle Early it's either Membou or Campbell. And I'm leaning heavily towards Membou: I think he's athletic enough to make the switch.

Josh Simmons adds another new wrinkle he's the Perfect Left Tackle for us. I was a little leery of him because of the injury: but IF he's cleared I can see him being the pick on a Trade Down Josh Simmons 6-4 317 very athletic Big man. We know the Hunter/Carter possibility: If they're available I can see us Trading down getting very good returns. Our Biggest Need is a LT and Josh Simmons solves that he has very little negatives. With this awesome news about him being ahead of schedule: #4 IF Carter or Hunter is there might be for sale to the Highest Bidder... A First Rounder in 2026 will have to be included.

Is Simmons still having a pro day in mid April?

I know he participated a bit in the Ohio St pro day. Which was encouraging. But I was wondering if there would be another check point on his progress before the draft.

Knowing we are going to Double dip at the position we can PUP Simmons until he's fully ready. Our LT position will be set for years to come.

Some guys are never the same after an injury. Bentley was just let go on a failed physical. Fully healing from a Pantellar tear is not a given. I am surprised that PatsFans wants to take a 1st roung flyer on a knee injury after the Easley pick.

Seems like Cole Strange is back they're working him at Center... I never considered D Easley a BB Scheme fit: but we know how BB likes to Reach on Draft days.

My gut tells me Josh Simmon and I'm a WR guy: you know Me and my Twin One-if.

Pennetrating DTs were always BB scheme fits. BB loved to have run stopping DEs and penetrating DTs. BB liked a DT plugger on 1st down or goal line stands, but that was usually only 1 guy (Branch was a fan favorite).

Strange at Center will be fun to watch, he is very athletic, can pull, and run block. Athletically he is a huge step up from Dave Andrews. He had some trouble with bull rushes, but he is not too bad at that, and better than Andrews. We will have to see how his knee is this year, but I am hopeful he can fully recover. We will see. Some guys recover, some don't.

Hunter, Hunter, Hunter. Sanders is a very smart QB that stands in the pocket and takes a hit. Sanders was OK behind a train wreck OL. He will be a good QB. Not great, too short, and not overly athletic, but he is accurate, throws a nice ball, and is smart.

The Giants passed on Nix, Penix, and McCarthy last year for Nabors. All three QBs will start this year and are much better than what the Giants have. Mara will not let the Giants brain trust make that mistake again. Can you imagine drafting a WR1 (Nabors) and a CB1 (Hunter) in the Top 5, and the franchise does not have a QB?? Noboby is that stupid. Mara will not let the Giants make the same mistake two years in a row.

I don't get T Hunter to the Giants either real head scratcher there.

How do you feel about Trading #4 IF either Hunter or Carter is there?? We would ask for 2026 First in the Trade Package plus a Day 2 pick. IF a Team won't part ways with that Future First no Deal.

Carter would be tough to pass on but yeah if I'm getting a future 1st and it's a team not named Eagles, Chiefs, Bills or Lions than I'm in.

I'm not sweating it. They already know if Ozzy Trapilo is a day 1 starter or not, and they can get him at #38 if it's a yes.
