2025 LT

You don't get out often enough (not that there's anything wrong with that). You can smell the Meadowlands from here on Long Island and it ain't that trash hill on Staten Island or the swamps of NJ, it's them fans. Ever watched a game in Philly or Buffalo? Didn't think so. That's some real living, right there. I could go on but I'm getting nauseous.
We used to make the pilgrimage to Buffalo every year. The last year, the fans were burning a car in the parking lot. The cops came up to our tent, knocked on it, and said it was "time for you Pats fans to head to the hotel" We were unaware of the car burning across the lot, and the cops stayed with us until we tore down our tailgate. Gave them a bunch of food. That was eye opening. We were all like "holy chit, is that a car?" You, you guys need to get the fekk out of here. We will wait while you tear down.

It is not a matter of prioritizing the guard position. It is about playing the players where their skill set best matches the position. Wallace did not look like a NFL tackle last year - it appeared as the Pats management was forcing the player into a position. Maybe Wallace turns the corner in Y2, we will see.

It has nothing to do with Pats fans being ridiculous. You are a very judgemental person. It has everything to do with not carrying players who do not earn their spot and playing the players in positions that match their skill set. But you keep hating on other posters, you do you.

Wallace was an injured rookie playing under a coach who had no idea what he was doing. You can't evaluate him based on the situation he was placed into. Its not his fault. Regardless, he is not getting cut this year.

It has everything to win many NE fans being insufferable. Heck, someone was ranting about how we need to hold out for a first round draft pick for Joe Milton. Another wants to trade for Deshaun Watson and then cut him and his $46 million salary so that somehow helps us and the Browns. Some think we need to sign 4 slot receivers because they read names of top receivers on some website.

Of course its about the players, positions, and skill sets, but its also about long term plan and roster management. I am telling you that the Pats are not moving on from the 68th pick in the draft after he failed under Mayo's debacle. He will be on this roster, and evaluated in 2025. They would move on next year, not this year if he can't improve.

I am judgmental? Yup, thats accurate. At least I don't live in fairy land with all this silliness. If you don't like my posts, just block me. That is fine with me.

I think you missed my point. I wasn't advocating for signing Becton, I was responding to you saying Caeden Wallace's measurables are those of a tackle and I highlighted that the same thing could be said about Becton and yet he got the move to guard.

I missed your point. It is a valid one.

I have no idea what you are even talking about. NH is nowhere near NJ. You just make up things that are not true and then argue with yourself to prove a fake point? Did you know there is a difference between saying that the Pats have some of the worst fans in the NFL and The worst fans? The concept of some of means they are included with the lower teams like Philly who has a jail in their stadium, Buffalo who throws nasties onto the field, and Cleveland who hits refs and players with bottles. Oh, but I have never seen their games. Those things just miraculously popped into my head. But you prove my point. You spin what was said into something that wasn't. Its want many NE fans do.

Mankins was a tackle in college and a guard in the NFL. Thuney was a tackle in college and a guard in the NFL. The list goes on and on. The transition from college tackle to NFL guard is common.

I never said it wasn't. I missed the point on Becton. And you ignored my point becasue you want to pick fights now. That's fine. I am up for it.

Wallace was drafted to be a tackle. That is just a fact. He had an abysmal year under and abysmal coaching staff. It is not time to move him to guard. He has to be evaluated by real coaches, which he did not have in 2024. He is not responsible for his failure in 2024. Let Marone teach him the game and try to put him a tackle because he does have all the measurements. He is the antithesis of Will Campbell. A body like Wallace does not come around every day. So if he was successful at RT at Penn State, then teach him RT this year. He is very athletic and ranked 6 overall with a score of 88 at the combine.

Na, we NE fans are just some of the worst. That is just true.
I think Boston fans are some of the smartest sports fans around
We are also rabid and extremely loyal
We don’t just sit on our hands. We demand excellence from the players and especially the Ownership
Hence. Title Town

I think you are taking me waaaaaaay tooooooo serious.

Noone is picking a fight. It is an Internet message board with opinions.

Thanks for the update on the 2024 combine results. Like I said, we will see. We can hope. Wallace is a big boy and moves well enough that I think he could play guard if tackle is not in his cards.

Lol. Right.

So are Mekhi Becton's. It does make some sense as Onwenu's long-term replacement.

I was thinking more like Laydown or the Sow as OneMenu's long-term or even near-term replacement, and Wallace as the starting/backup Right Tackle but NOT as a Swing Tackle...

My latest version of Plan A:
- Sign Stanley or at worst Cam Robinson; this is an absolute, no-excuses MUST-DO for this FO.
- Draft Membou to compete with Wallace for the starting RT position while training to become the possible starting LT of the Future.
- Draft Donovan Jackson with a pick from the trade-down (or at #38 itself) as the starting LG and backup/possibly future LT.
- Draft Ohio State's Seth McLaughlin as the backup/future starting Center.

Stanley/Jackson/Siddy the Sow/Strange69/Andrews/McLaughlin - OneMenu/Laydown - Membou/Wallace

You had me at Donovan Jackson

I *think* he started his own draft website and is focused on that. Please don’t quote me on that and apologies if I’m wrong, which I frequently am.
have you read that or how do you know?

He had me at laydown

I would sign Mekhi Becton and move him back to Tackle he has the measurables.
