2025 LT

Kelvin Banks, Texas
Earnest Greene, Georgia
Josh Simmons, Ohio state

For starters anyway. I can't really get all that wound up for LT play on July 9th. I'm no @BaconGrundleCandy, I am a casual college fan at best. I am probably most interested in Banks at Texas. He'll be playing studs in the SEC now.
An early favorite among some. If you want Banks at 4 now is your chance to make it happen...

Interesting list.

We had heard about Jackson, Goedeke, and Raimann before. Didn't realize Braden Smith and Kaleb McGarry had sub 33" arms as well.

Both Colts starters have sub 33" arms.

4 Of those 5 are top 30 tackles according to PFF. The other is #49.

Random observation - the guys with the longest arms(36+) as a group, actually fare worse. 2 of them are top 24 tackles, the other two outside of the top 95(out of 141).

Of those 2 groups, the highest ranked player is Bernhard Raimann at 8th overall.

Not saying to make any conclusions from that, just pointing it out.

I'll preface this by saying OL is probably the position group I struggle most to evaluate, and I appreciate I'm on an island here, but to me Ozzy Trapilo is the safest tackle pick in the entire draft.

There's no question about him being a tackle or a guard, maybe a discussion to be had on whether he can play LT, played both in college but was mainly RT.

I think he's the most solid pass protecting tackle in the entire draft. He's not a monster who knocks rushers on their ass, but he consistently keeps them away from the QB. I think he only gave up 3 sacks in his entire college career.

He's not very effective in the run game, he's not going to drive anyone out of their lane, but he'll stand there and block. But he could definitely improve there.

I'm seeing him ranked in as varied a range as 2nd to 4th round. If we could nab him in the 3rd I think he'd be a steal.
Perfect. Wish you could talk some sense into the rest of this forum. They are brainwashed into wanting to draft a questionable tackle with guard tools at 4th overall, over a guy who can score touchdowns or a guy who can sack the QB

Campbell's tools are that of a tackle. I dont think thats disputed by anyone. He just has arms that are 3/8" shorter than ideal.

But who are the touchdown makers or lass Rushers? I think most have established Carter and Hunter are at the top. But everyone assumes they'll be taken.

I'd guess the td maker is McMillan or Jeanty? I don't think anyone agrees that their value is higher than Campbell. Pass rusher? Stewart, who never reached 2 sacks in a season in college? Or maybe Graham, who never reached 4 in a season?

I'm not trying to tear apart Stewart or Graham(or McMillan or Jeanty). But you act like they're passing on a Nabers or Will Anderson. If Carter or Hunter are on the board, I believe they're the selection. But if they're not, you're picking from a sizeable group of flawed prospects. A left tackle, for this team, seems to make the most sense.

Would be interesting to know what the wingspan is for the same players.

Devil’s advocate here, but if the sell on Campbell is a great guard as a floor..I’d argue Tyler Booker will be a better one and has a higher floor at guard than Campbell does at guard or tackle.

based on free agency so far it probably makes the most sense for the Pats to address left tackle with their first pick in the draft.

To me Campbell has feet quick enough to develop into a top notch left tackle even if his arms are short. If the team drafts him I will assume they think he can play left tackle. At guard drafting him 4 would be foolish.

I’m not sure about drafting Membou as a left tackle at 4 is what I want since he exclusively played right tackle this year.

Have not had the time to watch actual video of prospect just been going off of draft reports and general consensus but i am caught up now.

Campbill is intriguing from the perspective of his stats speak for themselves against the best competition the country can offer. From the eye test nothing he did wow'd me, he isnt a nasty mauling run blocker, so i dont understand the desire to move him to guard. I did see the athleticism to recover any time he did get beat and at least make his guy earn every inch requiring multiple moves. His pass blocking was very good but at #4 i want a guy who can do both at a high level. I voted taking him in the draft game but i might need to change my vote. Trade down to 7-10 to get him and a 2nd round pick 100% fine with but more then that i think there are better prospects.

The opposite of this was Membou, im with manx all aboard take him at 4 if you have to. Multiple times in the highlight i watched i said wow look at the feet! A couple of nasty finisher blocks to go along with it. Just popped off the screen his balance and ability to stay square with guys no matter what move they tried. I think Campbill is smarter and better at picking up stunts so obviously room for growth but i like guys with a nasty streak. Give me some yummy yummy pancakes and i am a happy man.

Membou is outstanding. The issue now after free agency is whether he can switch to LT. I do disagree somewhat with you on Campbell as Guard. I think he looks like having really good potential there. He has really good torsional strength where he blocks someone and then twists his body to move them out of the way.

His movement skills showed up in testing, for a 6'6 320# guy to be that quick and fast is impressive. Alot would depend on the scheme being run, if you are asking him to pull and block out in space i'd agree he could be quite good. The thing i liked watching him was even when he got beat or was out of position he was able to recover and make his guy earn it. I could see if being the sort that never gives his QB less then 3 seconds of time because it takes multiple moves to get there. I just didnt see him absolute stone wall a guy for 5 seconds like Membou did. Call it a personal preference but when i think of a guard i want someone who has his man 3 yards down field in 1.5 seconds with a nasty streak that wears a defender out and makes him quit by the 4th quarter. Logan Mankins basically, LOVED that guy. I see none of that from Campbell. What i see is someone big, quick, and nimble enough to always get in the way which certainly has value, i just dont know that there arent more valuable guys available if i HAVE to pick at 4. I mean unlike the WR or bust crowd i certainly wont cry if he is the pick

I really like Ersery as well. If Hunter or Carter are the pick at 4, he's topping my list of guys to take at 38.
The left guard was doing his thing on some of those as well. He's a late day 3/udfa possibly.

I think both Conerly and Ersery go before 38, end of 1st very top of the 2nd.
