2025 LT

He has an abysmal 2024, but to be fair so did 99% of the roster. He has the physical tools as well as size. The dude is
6'5" and 341lbs. He is the RT type that we want. Let's see what Marone can do with him. I don't think the original plan was to have him play much in 2024 and he was thrown to the wolves. While there are some players talented enough to swap tackle positions, Mayo and Wolf thought they are all plug and play. Let Wallace back up out starting RT this year and rotate in. I think there will be great improvement.
Wallace might be an offensive guard. Replace Onwenu next year?

The speed in which people write off rookies who dealt with injuries is astonishing.

I think if they draft Membou, Wallace becomes a swing tackle backup.
Has Wallace shown that he can play in this League?? Inquiring minds want to know.

I agree, although at the same time you can't pencil him in as a starting RT. Maybe that's where things end up but there's no harm in exploring other options at RT.

C'mon State we have the Strange guy... contract year for him.
Maybe he can learn to play LT. After all, after we pay Ronnie Stanley Elon Musk money and he misses a bevy of games, it’ll be nice to have a guy better than Vandalorian Lowe.

You are right.

But Wallace was over drafted, Wallace was drafted for "need" not because he was the BPA, and Pats management quickly declared on draft day that Wallace could be a LT (which equally quickly was exposed as a huge overstatement). All of these factors appear to make Wallace's selection more of a publicity move than a solid football decision. This is in addition to Wallace's very limited rookie performance. We will see. I keep thinking he might be moved to guard like Becton was.

So are Mekhi Becton's. It does make some sense as Onwenu's long-term replacement.

I just don't think guard is the priority this year. We have Owneu, Strange, Sow, Robinson. I don't see the Pats dumping any of those for a new guard signing. Wallace is the RT backup. Andrews hopes to be back. That is six. We need a starting LT and RT. Most teams carry 9-10 O-linmen. If we sign Becton, we have room for one draft pick to back up LT if we sign a FA.

It is not a matter of prioritizing the guard position. It is about playing the players where their skill set best matches the position. Wallace did not look like a NFL tackle last year - it appeared as the Pats management was forcing the player into a position. Maybe Wallace turns the corner in Y2, we will see.

It has nothing to do with Pats fans being ridiculous. You are a very judgemental person. It has everything to do with not carrying players who do not earn their spot and playing the players in positions that match their skill set. But you keep hating on other posters, you do you.

Na, we NE fans are just some of the worst. That is just true.
You don't get out often enough (not that there's anything wrong with that). You can smell the Meadowlands from here on Long Island and it ain't that trash hill on Staten Island or the swamps of NJ, it's them fans. Ever watched a game in Philly or Buffalo? Didn't think so. That's some real living, right there. I could go on but I'm getting nauseous.

I think you missed my point. I wasn't advocating for signing Becton, I was responding to you saying Caeden Wallace's measurables are those of a tackle and I highlighted that the same thing could be said about Becton and yet he got the move to guard.
