2025 FA wish list

I LOVE this. It's always fun to think about who we could bring in. I'm hoping, either through FA or Draft, we can find a young, instinctive and FAST LB. Someone who Offenses will need to gameplan around. I love linebackers like that.
Our you more into OLB/edge types or ILB/MLB types or either?

Offensive tackle, receiver, edge, free safety, boundary corner are the biggest needs for next year imo. If they can add any of these before the draft it would protect us in case the board doesn’t fall our way.

With all the reporting of the big offer the Pats made to Aiyuk I think we will see some big money offers to guys like Tee Higgins this offseason. Targeting an edge player in free agency preferably a player that uses power to create pressure (think players like White rather than Uche).

This season I’m looking for improvement from the young players. In the offseason I will be hoping to see improvement from the front office in free agency compared to what happened this past summer.

I like both, but for this team I would LOVE an all-pro Inside LB. Someone like a Ray Lewis. Nasty, Physical and Fast

We have a lot of cap space, it is time to use it, I anticipate a spending spree similar, probably even bigger, than the year we signed Judon, Henry, Bourne, etc...

Overall not thrilled with the FA class, I am hoping a young star at a position of need becomes available for trade because even if we sign all these guys below we have more to spend, and I'd rather use it on a serious building block than some mid free agents. But there are some guys I definitely do want...

We should absolutely sign Paulson Adebo to be our #2 corner. Dude is only 25 and has been one of the Saints best defenders since last season. Would be shocked if Saints keep him given their cap situation and corner depth.

I also think we should go after the best FA edge rusher on the market likely either Haasan Reddick, Khalil Mack, or Matthew Judon. With White's breakout and Barmore's return adding another stud on the edge would make the pass rush special. I've always had high hopes for Uche but the consistency and production has never quite been there.

I also imagine they will sign a mid level veteran tackle to mentor our young guys and start if need be.

Alim McNeill is intriguing but I don't think he will make it to the market, and I also don't think DT is a priority with Barmore returning and White's interior pass rushing flexibility.

Still holding out hope that Mapu can be that player for us, if you consider him a LB. Or, with the Jaguars being so bad maybe we could trade for Foye Oloukun, dude might be the most underrated player in the league.

Travis Hunter.

I watched all-22 of Higgins from last game, based on that not sure he's a true #1, difference between Chase and Nabors and him are pretty significant. Of course, better than what they have but you have to pay #1 money to him. I thought maybe he was off a bit after missing time to injury.

So went back and watched his Buffalo game last year, totally different guy, I don't think he's 100% right now and the injury history is a concern but if he shows the rest of the year like he did in mid-2023 I think you take a shot and overpay for him, get the Tackle in the draft, not sure how else you get the receiver they need, or at least have decent odds to get one.
Yeah.. the other night was his first game back. I don't think he played in the pre season either right?.. in this offense he would emphatically be the #1.. Yeah I'm thinking take a shot as well. So my hope are getting drake's LT to protect him for a long time. Polk, Baker, pop, and hope Higgins. Sneakily we may be looking for a C as well. Andrews is signed through next season..but who's to say he doesn't retire after this season. The dissary on the line this season has he and owenu having to overcompensate for guys.

Travis Hunter instead of Jhaire

Love Hunter, but that means passing on Kelvin Banks or Will Campbell. Overall I believe in taking the best player, but certain needs, like QB and LT can override that philosophy when the need is really dire. This coming Draft appears to be the polar opposite of the 24’ Draft, it’s loaded with great defensive prospects in the 1st round, and QB and LT are short on franchise caliber prospects, but if the Patriots are picking top 5 they should be able to get Banks or Campbell.

Based on 1 pick? I thought the video was going to be 5 to 10 plays. I hope the Pats analysis is a bit more in depth

Travis Hunter is the real deal, he may well be the best receiver and cornerback in the Draft. He’s currently playing both full time, and you will be able to find tons of footage on him if you want to. That said I don’t think they can afford to pass up a LT at the top of the draft. Shoring up the OL is the #1 priority for free agency and the Draft, and I don’t think they can wait for the 2nd round to deal with LT. Hunter is a legitimate comparison to Deion Sanders as a player.

FYI the video is of Alexander

And also I don't think we can afford to wait until the draft for LT we have to fix it first or we risk the rookie not being ready and another year with OL issues. Maybe we sign and draft one. We need Veteran OL we know can play right away.

It's one of the reasons I wanted to trade 2025 first to move into the first last year and get the LT even at risk of trading a top ten pick I found value in not waiting and getting ahead of the game.

They didn’t need to use the 2025 1st, they could have used their 2nd and a 2nd next year and moved up to grab a tackle. I agree with that take, as well as those that wanted them to move back into the 2nd round of the 24’ draft, but they apparently had other ideas about the tackles remaining. I wanted those moves for the same reason you gave, but I give them the benefit of the doubt because they have all the film on the players, and a much better idea of their likelihood of success or failure.

Thanks, My feed said it was unavailable, I assumed it was Hunter because Alexander is already in the NFL.

I agree. I believe we can offer a WR for a mediocre starting LT.. they would be better than anything we have right now. So Boutte maybe to a team for a LT?

Let's do that now lol.

I was more referring to free agency time and probably need to invest way more than Boutte either way.

Yes! Osborne? Boutte.. I'm talking about now myself. If we win tomorrow we have a path.. obviously this is of course with Drake playing.. I want to see Drake with polk and baker.. meaning course we trade Boutte to a team that's thin at WR for a possible NFL caliber LT..

Yeah maybe Boutte or Osbourne (or even KB) and a day 2 or 3 pick could get us something before the deadline but I wouldn't expect anything more than a stop gap. Which we should still do but also could still have us looking next free agency/draft.

We also have the giant on the PS Caleb Jones so I guess he must suck too huh? 6"9 big for nothing I guess. But solidifying this O-line this season while definitely targeting our next all pro level LT is urgent. I'm sure mayo likely has his scouts down in the SEC scouting guys.

I have no solutions for right now lol

Next off-season I'd sign or trade for a LT capable of starting right away and draft another one in the second or third Rd. This would allow us to go BPA in the first and possibly get Hunter. They missed that first step this year which should be a criminal offense.

Absolutely agree..I believe next draft is defense and O-line centered. We also may be needing a C. Jake Andrews not sure on him. I'm thinking did wolf not anticipate Drake being this ready that the o line wasn't thought as higher as it should be?
