Spending enough to sign one or two impact players would go a long ways. Creates so much less dependency on the draft.
When I say 'impact players', I'm not restricting that to the annual 'sign-the-wr-beast' fantasies we always seem to have here - though there are several quality wide receiver possibilities.
Maybe a LB like KC's Nick Bolton, Titan's Ernest Jones, 49ers Dre Greenlaw (I'm assuming he'll be recovered by then).
Edge rusher Josh Sweat (Eagles) or Raiders DE Malcolm Koonce perhaps.
A center, or guard that can be converted to center would be a plus. With this roster there is no such thing as too many offensive linemen, until proven otherwise. Decent free agent offensive tackles are hard to find; the Pats will most likely have to use their first round draft pick on that position. (Will Campbell, Kelvin Banks).
