Douglas is a find and has a good chance of being that slot guy, or really expanded slot guy (I.e. Brown and Jules vs Welker and Amendola). But he’s not there yet, and all 4 of those guys took multiple years to get there. But we have problems everywhere else you mention.
Douglas might be that slot receiver, but like you said not their yet.

I didn’t forget account for anything. I am looking at the exact games.
I am not talking about how another teams season was impacted by their qb I am talking about the patriots.
If 10 had played like an average qb, who we played, who they had on the field, our schedule, etc etc etc all would have ben the same.
I am literally talking about the exact games they played.
what did the exact games showed?

both teams played with backup level qb play and the pats lost

What does this tell you about the roster talent and coaching, when the qb's play was nearly the same? What other variables could have affected the outcome?

Because we all know that team would prepare for Bailey Zappe and Mac Jones anyway even though they were facing that average QB. lol

And if the 4 teams beaten by the Patriots had average QB play they'd be 0-17. "Proven"!
You think that a team preparing for a better Qb makes having a better Qb meaningless?

You seriously have nothing of value to say.

Not big on the QB excuse.

Patriots went 4-13 and didn’t have a QB injury.

Steelers played varying degrees of dogshit at QB, lost their low level starter, and went 10-7.

Browns went 11-6 with Dogshit Watson and Joe Flacco.

NYJ had much worse QBs. It isn’t even arguable or close. Wilson, Boyle, Sieimien. 7-10.

Raiders had awful QB play. Benched Garoppolo. Patriots even got to face Brian Hoyer, who wasn’t good enough to remain with them. 7-10 or 8-9.

Colts played a backup QB all season and Minshew is a fringe starter/backup. 9-8.

Bengals had Burrow hobbling around all year and then played a backup the rest of the way. 8-9.

Tannnehill is hot garbage. Tennessee went 6-11.

Russell Wilson absolutely sucks...turnover machine. Sack machine. Payton hates him. Broncos 8-9 / 9-8.

That’s just the AFC.

Most of these teams are also dealing with big money QB contracts (Watson, Wilson, Rodgers, Burrow, Tannehill, Garoppolo). The Patriots are not. Despite not needing to pay big money at QB, the Patriots saved money on skill positions to build depth and fielded one of the worst special teams units in football, a joke of an offensive line, and their defense couldn’t carry them to wins as all these other mentioned teams were able to.

BuT BiLL NeEdZ a Qb! they say about the guy who four years ago they claimed was the only coach in football who could win with any QB.
Every team you mentioned had better QB play than the Pats. Every one. Minshew, Tannehill >>>>>Jones, Zappe.
Russell WIlson had 26 TDs to 8 ints. And he can still run.

It is hard to exaggerate how much Mac and Zappe sucked this year.

They showed that the patriots lost a lot of games they would have won if they received adequate qb play.

The same people who argue it’s all about the qb now want to argue the qb doesn’t matter.

4-13. 3 games buried in last. Excuses are just noise.

I have not made a single excuse.

You seem to think qb doesn’t matter.
So if 10 had played as well as, say, Josh Allen (16th ranked passer rating) this year, your genius opinion says we would have been 4-13?

Yes but many of those teams also have superior offensive talent.

And if the Jets had Aaron Rodgers they would be 3-15. Proven!

Rodney thinks BB is done.
It’s going to be painful waiting around for news. But once it does happen - if it happens - it will be kind of fun in a way going through the coaching and GM hire news cycle… and then the senior bowl, combine, free agency, and then draft with a new regime with a new philosophy.

It sure won't be boring around here....

QBs don’t matter. Interesting take you have. I disagree.

You're right. If the Jets had Rodgers AND Pickett played that night for the Steelers instead of Trubisky the Patriots would be 2-15. Proven! I proved it!

How can you say oh lets assume the pats get a significant better qb? But let the other teams talent the same. You can not change the variables only on one team
That's the whole feckin' point! The biggest variable in the NFL is the QB.
Patriots' QB play this year was abysmal.
Yes but many of those teams also have superior offensive talent.
When Zappe played well, for that one half, suddenly Devante Parker looked like an NFL receiver. Like Juju the game before that.
It matters.
And yes, they need an upgrade at WR. QB's make a difference in the entire offense.
