So glad the Cowpokes lost again - in typical fashion.
I think the Purdy magic runs out this week though. Philly is ready to go all the way.

No he wasn't.

He had 18 TDs, 2800 yards in the regular season

In the post season, he had 1 TD, 1 INT

That is the epitome of being carried to the Super Bowl.

LMAO The Cowboys called out Dak

He also played barely 2 games in that playoffs and one was in a snowstorm and the Super Bowl was against one of the best defenses in football. That "only 1 TD in the playoffs" thing is overstated.
18 TD, 2800 yards over 14 regular season games also projects to 21 TD and 3200 yards over 16 games. That would put him in the top 10 that season in TD. Trent Dilfer and Peyton Manning (the 2nd SB) were carried to their Super Bowl wins. Brady wasn't carried at all he ran the offense efficiently and did everything he needed to do. The 01 Patriots weren't a pass first team. They were a running and defense team like they're trying to be today.

The postseason numbers lack context. Tom really only played in only the Divisional Round and in the Super Bowl. He missed most of the AFC Championship game with the ankle injury.

Nope, he missed one half of the AFCCG. Drew came in with 1:40 left to go in the 2nd quarter. Sorry @sb1

What ifs...

Still a half of football he didn't throw a touchdown pass (Drew did) or add to his yardage total. Again, skews the totals.

He still didn't finish the first half. Also the Steelers had the #3 defense in the league.

So you're saying Brady was "carried" because he threw 1 TD first in a snowstorm, then in less than a half of play against a great defense, then in a Super Bowl game against an even better defense. No he wasn't. If he was carried the GW drive doesn't happen either.

So a guy who had a grand total of zero touchdowns in the first half vs Pittsburgh would have just lit them up the second half if he had played the hole game? C'mon Ian, you're more rationale than SB1 who is nothing but a homer "Brady can do no wrong" type.

Brady was carried to the SB in 2001 and 2018 period. His numbers were not great any way you put it.

By that logic - did you watch the Jacksonville game last week? As improbable as that seemed, things happen in the NFL. Not going to get into "what if" scenarios based on hypotheticals, but yes, Brady could very well have also finished off that same drive Drew did with a touchdown and then thrown at least one or more in the second half.

Y'all starting to derail a thread that had nothing to do with TB12

Talk about ignoring context - you are focusing on one Mahomes game, while I'm focusing on the totality of Brady's 2001 season, including his 2.5 playoff games. So Brady plays the entire Pittsburgh game - at best he gets 1-2 touchdowns for a grand total of 3 that postseason. Whoop dee do.
