Was hoping Tre Nixon made the final squad.

Interesting player. Was more of a college receiver, don’t know if he played TE in college. Big hands, former basketball player. Ran a 4.41 at his Pro Day. I think he got hurt his last year of college ball, but obviously he ran that 40 afterwards, so it mustn’t have been a bad injury.

I keep a list of players that impress me while watching college games, he was on my list a few years back, in fact he was the first player on the list, since the 1st game I watched that year was a Wake Forest game.

TE Scotty Washington definitely passes the eye-ball test like Jalen Wydermyer but can't seem to stick on a game day roster.

9/20:

Patriots release Jalen Wydermyer from the PS.

Patriots sign Scott Washington - TE - to the PS

9/21:
Patriots trade Justin Herron - OT to the LV Raiders
Patriots sign Justin Vizcaino - K to the PS

Terrence Mitchell signs with the Titan's "53" man roster.

They traded Herron + a 2024 7th for a 2024 6th.

Next man up, and may Calais Campbell's name go down in Patriots lore in the same breath as Mo Lewis'. You know that can't happen with Hoyer. I don't mind buying a wonka bar and seeing whether there's a golden ticket in it. That means what the hell, play the kid and see how bad it is (that said, I know he was pretty unready in preseason at times.)

Zappe was a long shot. Giving him his best shot might involve sitting him a couple of years, but as a fan, kissing the season goodbye this early feels a bit too early. And Hoyer the Destroyer is not just waiting for a chance to show us all what he's got. We know what he's got.
