D'Ernest Johnson was signed to the PS on 10/29. Since then, the Pats have used the 3 elevations for him. So, he can't be elevated to the 53 again. I see one of three things happening:
- He's cut outright
- He's cut and brought back (likely sending the NFLPA into a tizzy and a rule change for next season)
- He's signed to the 53.

In the 3 elevations, he's seen the following:
14 total offensive snaps.

9 snaps on Special Teams.
4 carries for 7 yards
0 Fumbles
0 TDs

EDIT: I stand corrected. A player cannot get more elevations by being cut from the PS and then re-signed. Thank you to @SlowGettingUp for pointing that out.

He's cut outright I guess. No way he makes the 53.

Vrabel said Stevenson is expected to practice this week. If he's coming back, there's really no need for Johnson to be elevated anymore. So my guess is they'd keep him on the practice squad. If one of the backs were to go down with an injury, then they'd reassess. If it were a long term thing where the injure back goes on IR, Johnson probably elevated to the 53. If it were a short term thing, they'd have to assess if they cut someone else to make room for Johnson on the 53 or bring in another practice squadder to elevate.

Why can't they just keep him on the PS, and if there is another injury to a RB then sign him to the 53. Don't see what you gain by cutting him. Cutting him and bringing him back to PS doesn't get you another elevation.

I've never seen so many people, so exorcised and upset over the bottom of the roster and guys who don't play, as I've seen this year. It's wild.

Idk what’s gonna happen, but he’s better than Jennings. It’s clear as day..

Is anyone actually exorcised or upset about these things? Feels more it’s just roster movement questions which fanatics that post on boards like this tend to find more interesting than the average fan.

Some folks are only concerned with those who appear in box scores and those who get significant reps. They have concerns wirh injuries. After all, someone will show up, or they never happen.

Strangely, some of these posters went ballistic when their favorite binkie was signed or left off the roster.
========================
Others have a different perspective. They focus on the entire team. They are indeed interested to see who might get reps if say Stevenson can't play or if one of the safeties in injured. For them it matters that we have Brown backing up center and guard with NO ONE else available during a game if someone should be injured early.

For some, it actually matters whether backups like Ponder or Saunders or Johnson or Gregory or Myers or Jennings might be able to contribute.

They can keep him on the PS, but he can't be elevated if the need arises. They would have to sign him to the Active Roster.
