Even at $29 million in cap space left and them making all those signings, the Patriots would still be one of the teams with one of the better cap situations for 2021 before legal tampering started and anyone made moves.

Well we know what the Pats - well Kraft really - did recently to a superstar player when this happened to them. Wouldn’t count on Watson becoming a Patriot not that it wasn’t a pipe dream anyway.

Big difference is that there was prior history that was public knowledge AND the drama continued after he signed with the Pats.

Today is Sanders' 34th birthday and he is a long way from his peak season. It's not 2014 any more.

True but he's still good (#45). He had a 74% catch rate (Agholor - 59%, Bourne - 66%). He's a bargain @ $6M for one year.

Agholor's low catch rate may be due to him being used as a deep threat with higher risk passes.

They've now got a strong 3-wide. I'll be looking to see if they add a TE to round out that offense.

Cousin Deus, The Bills had John Brown. A speed merchant. Brown only had 33 receptions in 8 games last year but year before he had 72. I think he is an upgrade on Bourne as a starter. Like may said, Bourne is a #3 guy. Sanders had less yards per catch with Brees throwing at him.
I bet we can pick up Brown cheaper. Brown has 4.3 speed.Brown is 30 and Sanders is 34.
Samders was a great pick up for the Bills even so. He catches the ball 75% of the time.

I don't get the logic of giving Trent Williams a six year, $138 million contract with $55 million in guarantees. Sure, based on pure talent alone, he is the best player in free agency. But the guy is going to be 33 at the start of the season. At that age and his size, the 49ers could be looking at a contract as bad as an one year, $55 million contract for the guy. Sure, there is a good chance he will play at an elite level for at least another year or two, but that is a huge gamble that he doesn't hit the age wall sooner than later. This is the type of contract I would give a 26 year old Williams, not a 32 year old Williams.

Should i help you out any more? The current estimates are the pats have between $18 and $24 million still available, so Watson's hit is $10 million. You still aren't really helping.

Maybe, perhaps you can post where that isn't the case. His cap hit is $15.4 with the Texan, but $5 million is his signing bonus which stays with them. Which leaves $10 million for this year.

Trading Watson would not add much damage to the salary cap in 2021​

As it stands, Watson is set to count $15.94 million against the cap in 2021. $5.4 million of that is the prorated signing bonus. The remaining cap hit is Deshaun Watson’s $10.54 million guaranteed salary.

As that $10.54 million in salary would transfer to the team acquiring Watson, the Texans would only have the $21.6 million in dead money from the signing bonuses acceleration. Therefore, trading Watson adds just $5.66 million to the Texans’ salary cap for Watson this season. The Texans are already projected to be $17.8 million over the 2021 salary cap, so they would need to be prepared to free up nearly $25 million in cuts and restructures if they trade Watson.
