Re: Bengals cut Tank Johnson

Curtis Painter is still on the team!

Is there a better job in Sports? The guy plays behind and gets to learn from Manning (has he ever missed a game?)
Your job: carry a clip board and act involved, hope and pray they never need you.
Heck, the one game they actually played him was a virtual forfeit to the Jests!

And since the Pats seemed to have fulfilled their quota for veteran defensive linemen, perhaps it is time to add some older offensive linemen:

Jon Stinchcomb is released by New Orleans Saints | NOLA.com

Right tackle Jon Stinchcomb has been released by the New Orleans Saints.

Stinchcomb was a Pro Bowler in 2009 and the team's Man of the Year in 2008.

Stinchcomb's performance dropped off in 2010 after he made his Pro Bowl debut in 2009, though that was largely because of a significant knee injury that Stinchcomb played through.

Schefter just tweeted that Atari Bigby has signed with Seattle!

Re: We Have At Least $11M Cap Money Available!!!

Cap space available, Fletcher and Spikes hurt, maybe now Lofa Tatupu looks like a good fit for our MLB spot with Mayo playing the Will recently.

Re: We Have At Least $11M Cap Money Available!!!

Lofa Tatupu is still out there. He obviously didn't get the money he was looking for initially.

Mike Reiss also suggests that Tatupu would be a good fit

Quick-hit thoughts around NFL & Pats - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

Still wondering why Lofa Tatupu hasn't signed with a team yet. The Patriots are thin at linebacker, and with their new-look scheme, he would fit well in the middle.

Not only would he make a good fit, but it'd be nice to have the son of the late, great ex-Patriot Mosi Tatupu on board with the team his father played for.

Would LOVE Tatupu here, especially with the new style of defense. His intangibles/intellect/character scream Patriot, and he has the talent to go with it. LB corps is still a bit thin. Tatupu would make it a lot better, especially if he's fully healthy.

well, why wouldn't Wrecks snag him then...if he's as exciting as you say he is...after all, YOU said the Jets have little to no real good LB's...sounds like he'd be a perfect Wrecks Ryan player

So you hold it against me that I respect what Rex has done and how good of a coach he truly is? I'm just being objective.

I hate Rex as much as you do. But I try to be honest with myself. The guy is an excellent coach with x's and o's and with motivating his team. I don't know how you can deny what he's done.

Back to back AFCCG appearances. Top 3 defense in back to back years. Most troublesome defensive mind for Brady to go against. 3-2 vs BB in the 2 years he's been a head coach. Beat BB in biggest game of the year IN FOXBORO.

Jets don't need Tatupu, as they have Harris and Scott inside. They need outside linebackers, hence why they are taking a shot in the dark on Maybin. But I'm sure Tannenbaum would consider signing Tatupu to a vet minimum salary, because it'd be a shrewd move and Tannenbaum is a shrewd GM/personnel guy that recognizes talent.

I don't know why it's so hard for you to give the Jets credit where credit is do. I want them to be the JEST as well, but they aren't anymore. They have their own identity, their own way of doing things, and it's worked quite well for them. 3-2 vs NE since "Wrecks" came to town.

blah blah blah, troll...you just gave yourself away,nitwit....you called an 11-5 season with an untested 7th round pick at QB a Belichick failure....it always happens with you deep undercover trolls...I guess I should have known when you kept hammering Andy about "respect Ryan!!!!!"...I'm a Pats fan, I could care less about that fat slob much less respect his deviant lifestyle and big, braggart mouth...traits I detest in a MAN

I am a Patriots fan. But I don't try to convince myself of things that aren't true.

The Patriots did not make the playoffs in 2008. That's a fact. If they had Brady, they would have. What Belichick and McDaniels did with Cassel was excellent. But they still didn't make the playoffs and they beat up on a soft schedule (AFC West and NFC West) -- two weakest divisions in football.

I've seen enough of his posts to know he's not a troll, calm down it's a message board haha.

Calling 2008 an argument for scrapping the 2 gap is certainly trying to convince yourself of something that's not true.

^ this.

About the only thing I agree with that he's said is that RR deserves respect for his defense. That said, **** him. This guy is spit shining RRs balls and talking him up to be a god standing next to BB.

Doesn't BB have a game plan already in the hall of fame? I think the 01 game plan should be in the hall of fame too. He also forced a rule change because of how badly he abused Indy receivers.

Esp. if Spike's absence is due to something more than just injury.

Re: We Have At Least $11M Cap Money Available!!!

No Tatupu. Perhaps he and his agent are still looking for substantive $, the very reason he's no longer a Seahag. Certainly at vet minimum or at more money but a cap friendly "prove it" contract I could see him signed here or elsewhere. The fact that he's still on the market suggests it's a too big for the current market money thing.

I'm getting close to hitting the PANIC button on Spikes' outlook as a Patriot. He may be one of those people who is his own worst enemy.

A call out to all you Patsfan Twits...any new tweets from Spikes?

Fletcher has a broken thumb... I think he can play through that easily
