I don't know about male cheerleaders, but male ballerinas might be the most rock-solid, muscular guys I've ever been around. I had a girlfriend who was a ballerina, and hanging around those guys definitely made me look at myself in the mirror with some self-doubt!

I agree with Farn that cheerleaders are useless. Although, you brought up male dancers. I was introduced to a play on Broadway a while back. Some dancers are world class athletes.

My thought was... are they gonna try to start doing lifts and throws cos usually that's the job of male cheerleaders in competitions to lift the girls up? But that's more like college level competitions. I haven't heard of them doing it in pro team units.



TBH I pay way more attention to the football than to the cheerleaders. I guess this is a good thing for them cos they can have more variety in their routines now.

I believe so. NFL cheerleaders used to be closer to the college model (i.e. actually cheering) decades and decades ago. And even aside from helping to do stunts colleges had male cheerleaders who cheered back then.
